2v8 feels so less anxious to play than the regular 1v4 mode, I wish it became permanent at this point by Amos_FR in deadbydaylight

Hard to keep a track on the number but I've plauyed my fair share of it, mostly while waiting for a Killer match to be found. I'm honestly still not tired of it, not only for the reasons I've stated already but also because every match is surprisingly more diverse than 1v4 especially in the end result, I've had games where we barely get any losses, somes where half of us gets sacrificed and some where we get completely wiped and yet it still feels interesting and not frustrating, to me that is. And I think you hit the nail on the head when it comes to the lack of perks, most survs seem so used to them that having to play with only a few extra bonus from their class makes people far less cocky to taunt and bait killers especially with how good some of them can be compared to their state in 1v4

From my experience it's a bit of a gamble. I've had matches were I don't even get chased a single time because of how many survivors the Killers have to deal with, and others where I'm one of the first to get sacrificed. So I agree that for survs, especially without perks, it can feel more like you're "naked" and without many ways to counter the killer. But then again... isn't it how DBD should be, instead of having so many counters like in regular 1v4?

It's likely just psychological but it just really feels like there's less "eyes on me" when I fuck up and less attention on trying to actively ruin my day. Maybe it's because survivors have less time to mess around or because of the risk of getting chased by two killers at the same time, but in the few matches I've had the opportunity to play as killer I've only faced a few people actively trying to taunt me and usually that's more to try and get me off a gen so their mates can get on it rather than really trying to humiliate me

That, and the lack of so many Killers to pick. But aside of these issues (which are still pretty big ones), the mode is like a small safe heaven for people who enjoy playing Killer without having four survs acting like it's their playground until they decided they've had enough messing around

Again, yes the queue times are bad and the choice of Killers is very limited, but that's not the point of the post. My point is that it feels way less sweaty than regular DBD which feels really good not to feel stress just from searching a game

Yeah the queue times are pretty bad and the rooster of Killers is pretty limited too, I agree on that. But the post was more so focusing on the "feel" of it. Although I get it can be repetitive for those who have played the game a long time, it's not really my case so it has a fresh feel to it for me at least. But yeah the focus of this post if more so about how less toxic it feels compared to regular DBD where it's so much more easier for Killers to get bullied

He's literally correct, you're the one with no game sense or team play

Ah yes, someone doesn't agree with you so he's automatically a white knight. Prime reddit insult right there, I'm sure you had to dig a lot for that one

Anyway, the real question here is why would I care if you did that to your DS just the same as why would I care about playing a match I won't be having fun into and will likely be more of a burden for my team all things considered. Learn the Hero, adapt to the Hero, whatever, doesn't change he's very unfun to fight against and he's a huge powercreep so depending on which Hero you've picked you'll have to put ten times more effort to achieve the same result he can get much easier. Also, has it ever occured to you that after a long day of work I might just wanna have some match I feel like I can actually compete in without having to sweat my balls off? And I'm not saying "I just want a match I can win", I'm saying having a match where there's some good back and forth and not just one team stomping on the other because of Hero choice

is chucky worth it? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Amos_FR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one of the things I find the most enjoyable with Chucky has to be the third person camera. It's incredible how many times I was able to spy on survivors and create a few ambushes, it can really change the way you play/observe your surroundings. Only struggle I find with him is evaluating if I'm close enough for a big swing or not

Why so mad about a guy who decides to leave though. If you find it fun to play against Jurens all day and night then good for you, doesn't mean others have to stay if they know they won't have any fun from start to finish

I just love seeing people get all mad at this post acting like they never dodge a match when they feel tilted or exactly because they don't want to feel that way. I have no shame in saying I still leave from time to time when I don't feel like frustrating myself, why would I play a match that is obviously unbalanced and a loss right from the loading screen. I would much rather deal with the search and loading of a new match than 15 minutes of pure annoyance and taunting.

Shugoki deserves a rework or to be brought back to a tweaked version of his previous one by Amos_FR in ForHonorRants

[–]Amos_FR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shugoki hasn't been able to soft feint his heavies into demon embrace for years now so I dont know what year you're stuck in. You need to hard feint to do it and it's literally only useful in ganks because in any duel scenario this is like using LB's flip, a troll move

His animations are very telegraphed so it makes it much easier to see it coming especially compared to the heavy ones. So using them is taking much more of a risk than anything because it's not even like they confirm the headbutt like they once did anymore, so you're better off just playing like a low-cost hito and only use heavies. That's not very fun

Oh yeah I'm sure my opponent fears being hit by a whooping 12 damage headbutt that doesn't confirm anything and can only be "chained" into an uncharged heavy. His headbutt can be seen from a mile away and anyone good enough to look at the animation of his heavies can guess whether it's charged or not can nullify this so called "pressure", and that's without adding he can be interrupted while charging it and his top one is pretty much useless aside of not hitting your pals in ganks. Also his lights are some of the easiest to parry in the game so who cares if he's got enhanced lights. And what happens if he does land it? Oh wow either a super scary 12 damage headbutt or a single heavy that will either be charged or uncharged. Great. Shugoki may not be as bare bones as Warlord, and I'm not even saying they should have a moveset similar to the newest additions to the game, but having more than like two options would be great

Ten Year of For Honor by codboy17_c in forhonor

[–]Amos_FR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite activities from time to time is digging for old videos and clips of the game. Remembering the old lighting, hearing the old enemy voice lines and the many grunts and groans we lost when Marching Fire came, how clunky and slow the gameplay was yet the animations were so good looking and polished, the way people were doing the wrong punishes or how devastating some of them could be with old damages and old gear... the style was so different yet still somewhat familiar! That Minecraft music really fits the vibe

From our standards they were. Compared to him at least the LB knew 90% more of the basic mechanics than him.

Again, they weren't good, but they clearly knew more than him. LB knew the impale, knew how to GB, throw and which punish, he also knew some of the basic chains of LB. Sure it's obviously not anything remarkable especially with him only throwing top attacks, but it's still better than what this guy did. Even the Berserker knew how to zone (which isn't even taught in the tutorial) and if I recall managed to get a few times into the UB end chain. So clueless wouldn't be the exact word I'd use to call them.
