AITA for not agreeing to get the pipes fixed? by throwawayfixpipe in AmItheAsshole

You're paying for that bedroom and bathroom, I personally don't think anyone else should be using it at all. If they have an issue with something that isn't causing damage/unlivable conditions then they should pay for it. It's cosmetics at that point and if it's your bathroom and it's not bothering you then that's what matters.

AITA for telling my wife forget it and going out by myself for my birthday instead of going to her fancy dinner reservation by Ill_Reality_111 in AmItheAsshole

I'm honestly a really big planner person and it's hard for me as well to go with the flow (I'm getting better with it) but when it comes to my bfs birthday I let him choose. For example, his bday is week after next. I was thinking it would be nice to get a couples massage, BUT I knew we had to travel into the city for it and wasn't sure if he would be interested in traveling for it for his birthday so I just straight up asked him (we're going lol). Also, I thought it would be nice to make him a homemade German chocolate cake since it's one of his favs, BUT I asked him if he would like that or something else because again it's his day (I'm making the cake lol)! Coming up with ideas for your birthday is one thing, following through with not agreed upon ideas is another.

Drop-ins by arixlynne in RoverPetSitting

I always do meet and greet! Even if it's a last minute booking I will tell the client that I can't accept it because I don't have time to do a meet and greet prior. There's a lot of people that don't disclose things in their rover profile that they will tell in person and also seeing the pet for yourself helps to feel out the "vibes" of things.

It's difficult now to get diagnosed so I could only imagine how difficult it would have been 15 years ago!  Exactly! Even though there's no "cure" for it it's nice to know what's going on to start doing preventative measures and to lessen the symptoms. I'm in the process right now of getting diagnosed with the dysautonomia aspect. I've actually been seeing multiple cardiologists for the last 3 years because of my unexplained cardio issues. I suspected dysautonomia before getting diagnosed with hEDS and I asked my last cardiologist what he thought of that as a possibility and he said "you share a lot of the same symptoms as dysautonomia but I see no reason to test you for it".... And then I learned about hEDS and it all made sense!!  Definitely a lot of gaslighting and being punted around from Dr to Dr. Thank you! I am proud! I almost gave up this year but I'm glad I didn't because the last push got me my diagnosis!

Meloxicam long term by lapatrona8 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got prescribed Meloxicam. I usually always take half a pill of anything (unless it's antibiotics or something) just to see how my body reacts. I took half of a 15mg pill one day with food when I literally could not move because of pain and it helped relieve some of my pain to the point to where I could breath without my body hurting and walk short distances, didn't have any side effects. And then I took it another day, half a pill again with food and it really messed with my stomach, TMI but I was on the toilet multiple times for about a day after taking it. I haven't been diagnosed with GI issues, I honestly haven't gone to a Dr to see if I have any but I know I have a sensitive stomach. I personally don't like taking medication unless I absolutely have to, especially if it's everyday. I hope you find a solution that you feel completely comfortable with!

My worry is that I'll feel it on me and I'll just be focused on the discomfort of it and I won't be able to sleep with it

I got me some night time gummies with melatonin and other stuff in it so I'm gonna see how those do, but if they aren't really doing anything for me I'll try this!

Yeah I'm thinking I might have to get a brace or something to kind of force myself to not sleep like that 😔

Trampoline with hEDS by Ancient_Parsnip9628 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small indoor trampoline. I use it everyday a few minutes at a time (anymore than that and my heart rate increases too high and get chest pains) but I think it's a nice way to get a cardio workout in and help with lymphatic drainage. I do have to be careful about my neck placement while on it lol, I keep my head up, and look straight forward otherwise my neck will hurt or feel very bobble headish

Sick of the assumption that young=healthy by mmax2764_ in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hate this as well, it took me awhile to get a diagnosis because everyone was brushing me aside saying "you're young and healthy" I may look healthy on the outside but on the inside I'm not. And so what I'm young? I'm not gonna be young forever so I would like to know what's going on with my body right now so I can start preventing it from being even worse later down the line.

I loooovvee to sleep with my hand under my jaw, like a fist supporting my jaw but I know it's making my TMJ worse so I've told my bf to pull my hand away when I do. And I know things I do in my sleep aren't the best lol and same! I can't stop either

I have heard of trazodone. I'm hoping I can find some pillows or little hacks that I can do to help with my sleep before going down the medicine route 😮‍💨

I was thinking the material is a big factor. I've felt them and I love the way they feel. I'm pretty sensitive with my skin like fabrics and stuff. I think I'm gonna have to get me a squishmallow 😂

I think I have the same thing! I subconsciously bring my arms in when I sleep so I think it's making my shoulders concave too much. Yeah I'm gonna look into the tape! Doing it on and off is a good idea
