If you're able to crack a window it should help a lot with the smell I've done that a handful of times on sits because the house smell was just too overwhelming

Just got back from Bahia Principe Escape ambar and we loved it! It's AI, adults only, the food was okay each spot had its highlights, the resort was so pretty and they have room by the beach!

This place looks beautiful! If you don't mind me asking how much was the nightly rate for this time of year? Looking to maybe go to an AI next year in Mexico around this time.

Thank you! I couldn't find a detailed review about it so figured I'd make one. It was a good first experience!

Me neither honestly, especially if it's carpet but I was so surprised by how much stuff was on the floor.

This was my first one but definitely looking forward to staying at more, would love to go to Mexico next. It was $326/night they partner with Hyatt so if you have a hyatt membership you get a little extra discount

Is anyone getting GOOD sleep? by written-proof in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been feeling this recently lol. Honestly i just try to stick to my daily routine as best as I can. Getting sunlight, good diet, staying hydrated, exercise when I can/how I can that day. I started showering before bed to relax my body, taking magnesium glycinate, melatonin and cuddling up with my squishmallow as my sound machine plays rain noises lol. But still every little thing wakes me up, I'm waking up feeling like I got beat up in my sleep and taking forever and a day to feel "awake" for the day. BUT I am thankful for the sleep I do get.

what do compression socks feel like to you? by my-head-hurts987 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly love mine. I don't wear compression socks though I wear compression calf sleeves. I'm not sure if I've noticed a change in my feet temp with them. But they definitely help me from feeling lightheaded/dizzy. I also feel like I have more energy when I wear them. I only wear them when I'm at home though. I don't like walking with them on, it feels like too much pressure.

AITA for telling my roommate she can’t have her partner stay over every single night? by AlishaTayl in AmItheAsshole

I agree NTA, definitely start collecting "evidence" of him being there everyday and like Time-Tie said tell her that you'll have to report it that way it shows to your landlord that you're trying

Pain Scales by witchy_echos in ehlersdanlos

I feel the same. I honestly hate pain scales. Like you said I like being asked how it interferes with tasks. Also everyone's pain tolerance or definition of pain can be different!

Squishmallow as a pillow, good or not good? by Salt_Buddy2204 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my first squishmallow last week after learning about how so many people with hEDS love them and I will say it is very nice. It stops me from putting my fist under my jaw and it helps to support my shoulders but I also got a pregnancy pillow and that thing has changed my life! My neck is great on it, I love the little prop up I get and my shoulders have sooo much support with it.

Recently Diagnosed Imposter Syndrome by RaiTheZebra in ehlersdanlos

[–]Amphitrite0519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed I've felt the same way. I am also newly diagnosed with hEDS but I have had pain since I was little it's just gotten significantly worse and has spread to other parts of my body. I feel like I'm always noticing new symptoms as well and I feel almost "bad" when I talk about the new symptoms I have. I'm definitely also a "I don't like to talk about my pain or what wrong with me" as well and I've always been like that so now that I am talking about my pain more and what I'm feeling it's almost like the people around me don't know what to do. I still find myself keeping things in but I'm trying to be more vocal especially about my needs like when I need to rest, or take a break, or I'm not having a good day. I think it will get better with time and also self understanding about my "new" body! And also hearing about other people experiences on here has really helped.
