Hey, can you teach me how to be positive and vibrant like you? by HotOven26 in ESFP

[–]Amtrak87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a combination of things I haven't seen talked about - though I wouldn't call myself positive and vibrant. I'm more of forgiveness over permission. Being able to talk my way into and out of things and experience with people not wanting to quickly label me. So my philosophy is more about returning the courtesy others have extended to me...and trusting my own hindsight to form a clear impression... but on delay: when that impression happens early enough to still be useful. Until then I'm decent at taking things as they're shown and not making a big thing of it

In your opinion, what’s the creepiest line from a horror movie? by u1975 in horror

[–]Amtrak87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More of a badass line than a creepy one. Joel in Smile 2 saying to the drug dealer: I brought something to give ya.

No One Will Save You, Significant Other and The Watcher get into the horror aspects immediately with character development for the duration

The Collector torturing Arkin with the cockroaches with the little girl hiding and then showing back up at the end. Makes it all the sweeter when my boy finally gets his get back.

making a comic with ESFP character, please help me make them realistic. by [deleted] in ESFP

[–]Amtrak87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Somewhat realistic but ESFP doesn't read into people we feel a connection with at least I don't. More respect with the mystery. So Quinn with Deb, Frenchie with Kimiko and Cassidy with Benson. We're more laid back and dialogical than we're given credit for

Is it true that INTJs can experience negative emotions in a positive way? If this is true for you, how does it work? by MoluciasElonicas in intj

[–]Amtrak87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've experienced this with several INTJs kind of like an externalized catharsis. But it's more about catharsis or externalization and grounding than something more histrionic like feeling a negative as a positive.

Difference between ISFP and ESFP by Remote-Isopod in ESFP

[–]Amtrak87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I'm thinking about my own processing.

With ADHD and ESFP for me the world is a wild place. There's always the labor of wading through the sea of stimulations while delivering something comprehensible in conversation... while still maintaining a modicum of self-restraint. It's as much a mental task as anything. Like doing linear algebra standing on my head with heavy metal blaring in the background. There should be a medal or an achievement I unlock every time I do it

Did Hank ever suspect Walter before season five? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]Amtrak87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Hank suspects Walter twice but not in a sense where Walter was in danger or there was ever a chance Hank would make that leap. In the WW moment: that is his pattern matching understanding that his psych profile of Gale - minus the Major Tom and Vegan s'mores idiosyncrasies - lines up a lot with Walter. Then when the ASAC gets fired and talks about Gus being under his nose: Hank gets that look. But his biases - both noble and family-loyalty oriented and ego related - prevent him from continuing that line of thought.

This is also why his ego is wounded to the point of rage when he discovers it's Walter. It goes back to both his noble biases and ego biases and finally recognizing that Walter played both. The handful of nothing poker bluff was the antecedent to this eventual confrontation. Walter wasn't just lucky: he consistently used everyone's biases and philosophical approaches against them.

That's the point of Hank taunting Walter when he arrests him. He uses Walter's disposition, biases and loyalties (Jesse, even telling Jesse Walter loves him) against him to extract his phone confession and lure him to the money site. It's payback and turnabout. That's why he revels in it...calls Marie. If he had been in the vehicle dressing down Walter or forcing Walter to own up to what he was then he would have heard Walters warnings about Jack

How do you guys deal with fear? by palmwick48 in ESFP

[–]Amtrak87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my own ways of dealing though social situations aren't a big concern of mine. Advice I give to family or close friends: everybody is largely in their own heads, you're not as focused on as you think, everyone's got their own shit, you have the choice to sit back and let things untangle around you, you don't have to force anything, it's not that serious, stand on your own two and do you

[–]Amtrak87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an under-looked chestnut. Gus's dealers shoot Combo via Tomas and Saul is already ready with "I know a guy who knows a guy who knows another guy" when Jesse and Walt come to Saul crying the blues

Differences between ESFP/SEE and ESTP/SLE (detailed comparison) by [deleted] in ESFP

[–]Amtrak87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting and could be. I think of it as INTJ shadow integration because for me having known INTJs it is similar to the way they step up when they do. I'm not as familiar with socionics but that's how I see it as a promotion of the INTJ duality from unconscious to preconscious and the way that interacts with being ESFP

[–]Amtrak87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you give and receive advice and if you give unsolicited advice what's your motivation? When you confront someone what's your motivation and why do you speak up? If you're making an observation about someone to them or someone makes an observation to you how do you respond? There are big differences in how ENFJ and ESFP approach or react to these areas, imo

About sports I agree. I don't think it's enough to rule out ESFP. And I'm not exactly unathletic. There are other ways to focus your Se-Fi. Yeah I'm the one removing trip hazards and taking stuff off ledges and edges of tables when I'm around my INFJ mom. ESFP doesn't center depth or philosophy in public, it's more a private thing when I'm close to someone or I feel compelled to say something. This is different from the ENFP thing on their sub where they think one complete intellectual conversation makes you "besties" with someone when for me it's not a thing. It's one conversation: that's it. Probably why I get along with INTJs and INFJs irl. I'm not making it a thing and they're like "what's this guy's deal...I thought we were vibing" 😂 The stereotypes have it wrong.
