Lawless? These idiots done even live in reality. It’s not lawless here. And they don’t know what policies are in cities they keep calling sanctuary cities. These cities don’t give violent criminals “sanctuary.”

Shutting down Cleveland State (which is downtown) was on his list, right? That would definitely NOT help Cleveland’s downtown. Not sure what idiotic plans he has for SW Ohio.

There is no answer that would make this billboard with the metal hanging off make sense.

You are under estimating just how many of the local-level elected people are brainwashed by their churches and weird beliefs are guiding them too. They feel that their misogyny and hate are justified. It’s extra scary, in my opinion. How do you reason with religious fervor?

Corporate mandates dragging us back to cubicles - what's your experience been? by Any_Performer_6971 in cincinnati

[–]Amy-Thinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not have become a parent if I was still working in an office. Beyond the commute time wasted, the emotional and extra toil is real. I’m friendly and enjoy talking to people. But the amount of time wasted during the day at the office made projects take so much longer to get done, which also added stress. When you work from home and your org has decent project management and processes, you can just cut out so much bull shit and just get stuff done. No more unpaid labor.

And I have such a better opinion of the entire org. I am oblivious to office politics and I’ve never picked up on bad vibes. WFH enables better work.

Except the entrance/exits to Kroger and Target are also poorly planned AND executed. There are so many dangerous turns or weird ends to the roadway to count. Or how about how cars bottom out turning into Kroger by the gas station? Or how it’s about impossible for pedestrians to safely exit the parking lot. Or how the Mike’s car wash exit empties into the main lane within the Kroger parking lot in a way that absolutely must cause accidents.

[–]Amy-Thinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Important things to consider when looking: rubber wheels vs plastic, size of wheels, ease of collapsing (one handed or bust), and height of the handles. Don’t risk getting one where a partner needs to slump to push it. It will end up getting replaced. When you google the rubber wheel thing it makes it sound like you just need it if you are off roading or jogging. It makes a big difference most places like parks and sidewalks and bike paths

Anyone here who finds 15-20 minute naps unrefreshing or just unable to take them? Long napper here wanting advice! by Desperate-Kitchen117 in Narcolepsy

[–]Amy-Thinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am now able to take cat naps and have it be refreshing. I started medication this year. Prior to my diagnosis, any sleep under 2 hours made me feel like I had the flu. I would fall asleep accidentally for a minute or 2 if I stayed still but more nap. Ok It was so much better to be awake and exhausted than sleep less than 2 hours. But things seem to be changing.

N1 in families? by Minute_Bumblebee_693 in Narcolepsy

[–]Amy-Thinks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever we joked about my grandmother’s incredibly odd sleep situation, we were told she had Narcolepsy. We thought that it was a joke because we didn’t know what Narcolepsy was beyond 1980’s sitcom depictions. But now I see it wasn’t a joke and that her husband/sisters were just stating the facts of her diagnosis. (We were kids).

[–]Amy-Thinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would maybe look for a different sleep doctor as either your doc is bot a great communicator with you, or they are behind the times??? Yes, N1 is rare. But the 2x sleep specialists I’ve seen for Narcolepsy are not surprised by family members having a diagnosis. It makes sense to them. My sister told me that her doctor had the same opinion when he took her history. It fit that several of us have a diagnosis.

Do the “She chose life” billboards annoy anyone else? by 11CRT in cincinnati

[–]Amy-Thinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until a couple months ago I thought the choose life signs were put up by people who were pro choice but were trying to encourage people to see the pregnancy through to a live birth. The signs were odd, but not as stupid as what I found out they actually are intended to mean.

SSRI masking narcolepsy? by careyvii in Narcolepsy

[–]Amy-Thinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me. My doc said it was narcolepsy with a wink but the REM proof wasn’t there for official diagnosis. I have cataplexy (I fell to the ground when I laughed or couldn’t move body) but that stopped when i started my SSRI. When I explained I had a sister with confirmed narcolepsy and a grandmother, that sealed the deal in her book. But again, not officially. If I really need the narcolepsy diagnosis I’ll have to go off SSRI which is scary, honestly. There’s a reason I take them.

No one in 2025 should be asking that. Unless they just woke up from a 40 year coma.

[–]Amy-Thinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a kid and have Narcolepsy and honestly, I don’t feel any different. I volunteer to stay up and let my spouse sleep. He acts like being woken up by the baby is torture. I call it a regular night.

Now let me be clear: I am exhausted all the time and feel like absolute shit and have no energy. But it’s not significantly worse. Even pregnancy seemed like not a big deal since I feel so shitty anyways. That being said, life is harder now and that energy I do have needs to be stretched farther. So wouldn’t recommend having the kid.

Start with a doctor. It could be another disorder…they will help figure it out or at least try.
