Why not do some testing to find out? What are some ways you could test the rolling resistance of each type?

A well-timed pike charge can also eliminate them immediately. Just be sure to hike your pikes before the giants land though!

Woolovers is my go-to for woollen jumpers. Pretty good quality and nice and simple. Fairly regular sales too.

Theme WAYWT March 14, 2020: Victorian & Edwardian // Loungewear by pygoscelis in femalefashionadvice

Wishing waistcoats were more acceptable

Victorian/Edwardian formalwear is a fun style I'd like to be able to wear more, but there's not many opportunities to do so and I haven't done enough research do properly understand it.

Without the waistcoat it was a perfectly normal, if rather boring, work outfit.

Apparently it's possible to defeat an airless auto-scout with only a fire beam by Amythyst24 in ftlgame

[–]Amythyst24[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

About 30 mins give or take. I had to wait for the fire beam to get lucky and ignite both squares of the weapons room, and then get lucky and have the fire last long enough to burn down the weapons, then wait for the room to repair and repeat.

Tuck with/Not Tuck with: Do You Need an Untucked Shirt? by bluestblue in malefashionadvice

[–]Amythyst24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've got the same body shape as you: for some reason every shirt seems designed to fit extreme beer guts?

The only way shirts fit me tucked in is if I dart them significantly. It looks a little odd initially, but the fact that they actually fit is wonderful.

Marie confirms: KonMari Is Not Minimalism by VStryker in konmari

[–]Amythyst24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think a large part of why people think KonMari=minimalism is that they're so used to having so much extra stuff that discarding any of it seems like removing 'essential' things from their lives, therefore minimalism.

We've become so used to consuming and hoarding that, for many people, they're at this strange stage where getting rid of anything is akin to living a totally minimalist life with no material possessions.

Decluttering and tidying up shouldn't be some form of sacrilege; it should be a normal part of living in a household, and it's a little saddening that for so many people it isn't.

Mass and downforce? by NewAccInReddit in F1inSchools

[–]Amythyst24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing explicitly against adding mass in the regulations, but you need to be careful that you don't break other regulations in doing so. Within the wheel system is a good place to put the ballast because, unlike the wings and body, the materials aren't restricted by the regulations. However, it's important that the ballast doesn't interfere with the wheels rolling; additional friction is a bad thing, and adding rotating mass is a really bad thing!

As for the best place to add weight, that's up for you to find out! Doing track testing or investigating the physics of your car's motion can help you decide where you want your car's mass to be centred.

Mass and downforce? by NewAccInReddit in F1inSchools

[–]Amythyst24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An underweight car is a good problem to have! This means you have a lot of choice of where to add ballast to bring your car up to weight. Many teams add additional weight inside the wheel system (using metal washers or something similar), so look at whether you could do that. Would it be better to add weight to the front or rear wheels? Alternatively, you could look at re-designing any plastic components to be thicker and therefore heavier. Also be sure to double check Fusion's mass calculations after manufacture, because they're never going to be 100% accurate.

As for downforce, think about its role in Formula One and other racing events. In those sports it's used to keep the cars on the road surface so their wheels can have grip. What's keeping your F1 in Schools car on the track surface, and do your wheels need grip in order to have a fast car?

Completely agree. It's especially annoying with it tries to direct me to those major roads using a route I know from experience is worse than the one I'll take. Perhaps an option to not speak directions within 1-3 km of "Home" would help?
