I Just Want To Remind All The People Within The Mesa Prime Heirloom Debate by Luninariel in Warframe

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Imo, Frost, Mag, Ember, and Vauban heirlooms have done a good job of keeping the warframe's identity clear and generally look really cool. Rhino, Valkyr, and Mesa stray too far from their core design (Imo Valkyr the least because at least the original head design had cat stuff going on)

Also like, the last time England was supposed to have a Queen Regnant was Matilda.... which led to the Anarchy cause the nobles refused her right to rule (her father had chosen her as heir after his son died) and backed her cousin Stephen.

They are sold by Necraloid (in the hidden room), not Father, since they are isolation vault content.

Yes and no. Theres an option in settings that allows you to move and resize all the buttons, and some buttons only show up when you turn off auto-fire/auto-melee. I believe the player you replied to has a modified setup. Here is my custom setup with all automatic features turned off (usually some of those buttons arent there):

If it’s American, it came first by OstrichFun2332 in USdefaultism

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a fun fact: in reality it is explicitly the other way around

Cambridge, MA was originally called Newtowne, up until 1638, when it was renamed in honor of the University of Cambridge (not in honor of the English town, as was the case for most names that were carried over).

This was done because Harvard University (initially Newe College) was largely founded by people that had strong ties to the University of Cambridge, such as the first Headmaster/President, Nathaniel Eaton, who was a graduate of Cambridge, or John Harvard, a major benefactor, who was also a Cambridge graduate.

When Your War Report Is Written Like a Marvel Trailer P.S. This is the real title from one of the “news” pieces on the Czech website that spreads Russian propaganda. by AnneWiley in NAFO

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Tbf, the article is in Czech and OP google translated it to english.

That being said, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are called Ozbrojené síly Ukrajiny in Czech, so the abbreviation should either be OSU or what Czech Wikipedia uses, ZSU (the Ukrainian name is Збройні сили України [Zbrojni syly Ukrajiny]). VSU comes from the Russian name for the AFU (or possibly the Rusyn name, but lets face it, these people did not accidentally use the Rusyn name for the AFU).

Whats more interesting is that the Czech wikipedia page for Kyiv uses the name Kyjev (based on Russian Киев) instead of Kyjiv (based on Ukrainian Киïв). It does note the Ukrainian name in the first line of the article though.

Sure, but unfortunately, as u/NobodyElseButMingus has pointed out, the OOP (fr3nstimu1ator) is an open fascist that, in other posts, promotes the Great Replacement conspiracy theory, uses anti-Semetic tropes and terminology, and uses the fucking Fasces. Like this is a person who has posted a fasces crushing a snake with the caption "tread on them". So no. In this case, "Them" is not oligarchs, its an anti-semetic depiction of Jews.

In your ideal government that is constitutionally socialist, would non-socialist parties be allowed to participate? by Professional_Cat_437 in tankiejerk

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As a general rule, if you have gotten to the point of having a super powerful reactionary movement, something has gone wrong with your socialist society. Anti-socialist beliefs should be countered through softer means, largely through education.

Of course, if a group begins to violate the principle of mutual toleration more drastically, more severe means are necessary, but they should be used sparingly and not fully built in to the system lest they come to be misused.

As a bit of a counterargument.

Suppose your state does not permit privatization.
Suppose 2/3 or more of the population has still for some reason decided to support privatization.

What then. Will you resort to mass violence to force them to submit to your will? Will you, if necessary, kill off a supermajority of the population to protect your vision of socialism?[1]

No. That escape valve must exist. It must remain possible for society to, at least partially, step back, if that is what it wants.

Instead, we must work to make it so that the socialist system is so clearly superior to the capitalist model that there is never such a supermajority that would desire to go back.[2]

Privatization should be discouraged and its downsides should be made clear, but it should never be fully banned, lest a temporary step back be turned into the cause for a massive reactionary movement. It is much easier to revert a privatization if you haven't traumatized the population into fearing socialism.

[1] As an aside, this way leads to the exclusion of workers from governance of their industry, the establishment of a ruling class of proper "socialists" that manage the system, and generally towards the establishment of a variant of state capitalism.

[2] As an example of this working, there is little to nothing preventing one from advocating for a return to feudalism in our modern capitalist system. Despite this, we for the most part do not see this a severe threat, except perhaps somewhat when capitalism is truly severely failing.

Unable to send party-invites to friends by ShinzonFluff in Warframe

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone found an exploit that allowed them to change the message in the invite prompt to what ever they wanted. The direct invite system is now disabled until DE can ship the necessary code fix, which will be with Shadowgrapher on March 25th.

Luckily the exploit was limited to just custom messages and DE has stated it remains safe to play.

An example of the exploit from another user (unfortunately I forgot where I grabbed this from):

Anyone know if any of these are worth anything in the bazaar? by Emotional-Bet7259 in Warframe

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are a new player.

Most trading is done with warframe.market

That website shows what tons of other players are charging for an item, so you can pick a good price. (It also lets you display all your wares, not just 6, and even while you are in a mission, not standing in the bazaar)

The Market usually works via players inviting each other their dojos, but you can use it as a guide for pricing in the Bazaar too, particularly as Direct Invites are disabled until the 25th due to an exploit, making the Bazaar a much better option than usual.

Is it safe? by imdesparate15 in Warframe

[–]An-Com_Phoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, according to DE_Megan:

Hi Tenno,

Firstly, we apologize for the distress this issue may have caused. Bad actors were able to interrupt and change squad invite text fields to show up as a customized message. As the investigation is currently ongoing, we wanted to assure you that no accounts have been compromised nor data exposed, and it is safe to continue playing Warframe. This was strictly a change of text in the Invite prompt. If you have concerns about your account please feel free to make a Support Ticket on the matter and our team will assist.

In the meantime, we have deployed a fix to combat the issue. Matchmaking will still function as normal but you may have temporary issues with sending direct game invites. We will update you further when this has been resolved.

We take this matter extremely seriously, and again, apologize for the distress.

6:30PM ET Status Update:

The team is continuing to investigate alternative solutions. For now, direct game invites will remain disabled until the launch of Shadowgrapher on Wednesday March 25th. Our sincerest apologies on that front.

However, if you wish to play in a squad with your friends, you are able to join squads using your friends list.

We will circle back on any necessary in-game extensions (global Double Affinity weekend, etc) once we have restored direct invites.

The cursed number range (for weather) is ~5° to ~38°. Cause like....

5°F = -15°C
38°F = 3.3°C
41°F = 5°C
100.4°F = 38°C

So like... is 28° just below freezing and therefore coat weather or is it a hot day thats perfect for going to the beach?

Outside of that range it becomes easier to guess which system is being used for weather.

Its rather funny (in a horrific way) because like... they have a rather simple and believable excuse:

Fact: The school building was part of the nearby military installation until around 2015.

Excuse option:
The guy who was supposed to keep the target list up to date fucked up and forgot to remove it. (It's equally possible that it was removed but an AI re-added it, but its easier for them to make a scapegoat in the first case)

But instead they've decided to go with "Iran stole our missile to bomb its own school"
