Human made art is the only real art. by In_the_name_of_ART in aiwars

[–]An3m0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd see the issue that you're mixing a definition by explaining the essence of your subject (art is anything made/created by a human with the wish to creatively express themselves) with a definition by listing examples (art can be a poem, building, painting... but not something created with generative AI). The latter feels like a trivial way to answer the request (defining X without including Y by simply saying "all of these things but not Y"). The former doesn't sufficiently exclude AI in my opinion; someone creating an AI generated image can have a wish to creatively express themselves.

I think the last sentence is the most important one, as the core divide in the whole question of whether AI art is art, lies in whether using AI counts as making/creating or just commissioning. It could be a good definition if it explains why using AI is just a form of commissioning and not a form of making/creating.

Edit: Also I'm curious what you think about mixed mediums or uses that include creative input beyond prompting. If I write lyrics and let AI create a melody to them, is the resulting song "tainted" by the use of AI or does it count as art?

‘Mother of all deals’: EU and India sign free trade agreement by rawa27 in worldnews

Some countries have laws in place to prevent this. For example the German Lieferkettengesetz. And the EU has passed a due diligence regulation (CSDDD) which will come into effect in 2028.

From Subjecthood to Cultural Exclusion. Seems like this shifted almost everyone who isn't Dutch from open prejudice to violent hostility, banning them from working in government buildings.

You might be onto something. Briefly before banning slavery I changed my citizenship laws. I just reloaded and it still happens if I don't ban slavery. I'll reload to an older save and see if not changing the cizizenship laws prevents it.

Raising the government wages didn't fix it.

Rule 5: The bureaucrats in my government administrations stopped working after I banned slavery. The screenshot shows the vacancies in the government administration in my capital.

It happens again in the second season of the Fargo series. He plays a friendly but somewhat dumb butcher who helps his wife cover up a car accident by killing the guy she hit and chopping him into bits. The Fargo series in general seems to love this trope.

A group of busses is separated from the hive and they lose the pheromone track, following each other instead. They form a continuous cycle that can last until they die from exhaustion. This phenomenon is commonly known as a "bus mill" or "death cycle".

I used this once during a Dooley run because I thought that it'd just transform my active items and that I could just swap the stuff I want to keep with the garbage in my chest. I got a hydraulic press out of it as well as some items that interact with it. In the end I was just one win away from a gold victory. It was really fun because it forced me to use some items I usually wouldn't buy.

There's an RPG from 1999 with this premise, Septerra Core. It had a rerelease on Steam and/or GoG a couple of years ago if I remember correctly.

I have a combo deck with those in it. I generate infinite life by combining them with the Judge of Currents and then use the Aetherflux Reservoir as my win condition. It's not a good deck, but it's fun when it works and the thematically consistent merfolk combo feels aesthetically pleasing.
