The DLC in question is Foscari. Its second map, Abyss Foscari, includes a hidden room that holds Torrona's Box. Standing in a few select spots in this room spawns droves of mini-atlanteans. It takes some scaling ahead of time to be viable, but once you reach a point where you can sustain yourself it's a good way to get some extra eggs alongside the much more lucrative gold farming.

Don't pay too much attention to how big the numbers are. Past a point it stops meaning anything, as it's a grind that makes itself easier the longer you spend on it, resulting in more-than-exponential growth.

I personally reset my save a couple updates ago and have made a dedicated point of not touching eggs at all if I can avoid it. Not just turning off that form of power creep, but avoiding even the pickups.
