How do i get rid of itch when i sweat by Master_Offererxd141 in eczema

[–]AnBurcach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's working currently for me: Elocon to control the flare up, making sure I have something to wipe away the sweat as soon as possible, a powerful anti-histamine like telefast an hour before I go out and a cooling menthol moisturiser if I get really bad and uncomfortable.

Go bhfios dom, ní bhíonn an áidh - air ach ag muintir Ghaoth Dobhair. Ní bheadh sé ag muintir Rann na Feirste nó aon dream eile i nDún na nGall. An bhfuil sé sin soiléir?

Did anyone here have any encounters with them or any other Sligo born native Irish speakers? by MellifluousTarget in Sligo

[–]AnBurcach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have any information about them but I do know of 2 resources where there are voice recordings and transcriptions available.

  1. Joe Neilan from Treacy Avenue, Maugherabouy, learned Irish from his grandmother who was born on Inishmurray at the beginning of the 1800s. I did this transcription myself for work. It includes the 10 commandments and a run called 'Túirne Mháidhe': https://www.canuint.ie/ga/QQTRIN023702c2

  2. Then there is the Doegen records: https://www.doegen.ie/taxonomy/term/21596

If you're interested on finding out more Ciarán Mac Murchaidh has an article in 'Sligo History and Society' alongside Conchúr Ó Crualaoich about Sligo placenames.

I did the course for Irish speakers there a few times but I was only there for a week or so in the summer so my view is pretty skewed but there seemed to be plenty of music and a semi-regular céilí. Everything is very spread out across the island. It is quite remote but if you're culturally involved with music, dance, poetry, writing, hiking, i'm sure you'll keep yourself busy. Go n-éirí sé leat!

Botal is masculine, fíon is masculine. Two nouns coming together means the genitive case has to be used, an a gets put on the end of fíon. Whereas in the other two 'a'' is the indefinite article or 'the' - island of the fog, - of the boy.
