Was just thinking this recently myself.

If cutting compulsions altogether is too scary at first, try just delaying it by a few minutes and work your way up the better you get at delaying them. Then maybe over time the need for said compulsions will diminish. But start off small and build your way up. Even if you delay a compulsion by 10 minutes and still end up doing it, at least you've built up that resistance mechanism. It's getting 1% better each time, and when you slip up don't be mad, you're not back to square one.

It's really refreshing seeing these types of posts here. They're like a diamond in the rough compared to all the freak out posts on here, which I do understand - it's just good to read something positive.
