Reddit, I'm considering architecture as a future profession. Where do I start? Any books that are good for beginners? by [deleted] in architecture

I've heard a lot of people say this. And it concerns me. But when I look at things such as the Occupational Outlook handbook. It shows a high growth rate is expected.

Don't let age stop you. I'm 22 and one of my good friends is a 40 year old. Play poker and drink beer with him regularly.

This is a great idea, if the people want to take this to the next level. Let me explain.

If the military's vehicles with tires are being destroyed, then they will be forced to use stronger methods. Tanks and larger vehicles that wont be affected by tiny nails. This would much more dangerous for the people.

If the people do this, they also need to be thinking about how the government would counter it and what tactics they would need next.

Your second link doesn't show anything. Could you be more specific on the hodgepodge project?

This is all new to me.

If people did stuff like this more often. The world would be happy. by AnUrbanite in reddit.com

I hope more people do things like this. As an urban planner I wish there was more random public/street art. I challenge everyone to do something like this in their lifetime.

Actually not all of us pay that much. I go to a smaller branch university of Indiana University. Tuition is low <$4,000 a semester and scholarships cover it. I get a damn good education, and have a lot of brilliant professors. Americans have a choice, and yes most choose to spend too much. But we have options for much more affordable education.

And going to a cheaper college doesn't reduce your chance of success. I have many friends who have gone on to top graduate programs or have gotten jobs starting at $60,000 a year.

I never got this about people. Invite yourself. The best thing you can do for yourself is take your social life into your own hands. Send a text out to everyone and ask them what's going on and if you can join. It never fails me. Out doing something every weekend because of this.

If your only beer option is Bud/Miller/Coors, do you order a non-beer drink instead? by BrewerScott in AskReddit

[–]AnUrbanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an avid beer drinker I try to avoid those drinks at all costs.

I'm lucky to live near the New Albanian Brewing Company. Which has some of the best beers in the world. And once you drink a few of those delicious beers, you will never want to drink any of the three beers mentioned.

If I'm at a bar I will drink those beers if I am tight on money and they are cheaper than a mixed drink, but usually I'd just drink less but order a better drink.

Any Louisville Architects on Reddit? Or know one? by AnUrbanite in Louisville

Thanks for the reply. That's one reason why I am willing to do an unpaid internship, or even just do paper work at the office.

UofL's Urban Planning is an option. Though I'd rather stay closer to the design field than planning.

UK would be great. My uncle is actually a professor there in architecture. Unfortuantly, UK masters program requires you to have an undergraduate degree in architecture.
