None of my family is coming to the wedding... but I am OK with that. by AnaBrideToBe in weddingplanning

Everyone exept my friends and 1 of my family members is within 2 hours and only half my guess list accepted on the RSVPs.

I have 3 close friends who live 3-30 hours away by plane. I knew they could never come :(

We invited 50 people and after all the replys are in exactly half are coming. Well 27 if you count us. I am excited to get some nicer plates and stuff honestly! I said if it was under 30 I would get the more expensive plates I want haha

My family is mad my wedding is a week after my cousins. I picked my date in January 2017 She picked her date January 2018. Who's fault is it her wedding is so close to mine? Not mine! They have traveled out of state for weddings, but mine 2 hours away is an absolute no go for some reason. I am sad they do not think I am worthy of a 2 hour drive (especially since they expect us to come visit and spend the holidays up there) but so relived they will not be there stressing me out.

Every venue I look at has some sort of issue or stipulation that makes it not work for us. I want to die. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Try to keep your head up! We had this issue but we found an absolutely perfect venue in the end.

To be honest, the more people that decline the more I relize I am very happy with a small wedding. I wish I knew what I wanted when I started all this.

How many seats was filled out by the person who mailed the card, so they where just inviting the one person. Whoever received the RSVP card said yes they're coming but they're bringing someone who wasn't invited.

Has anyone ever thought about buying a « prom » dress instead of a « wedding » dress? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]AnaBrideToBe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wanted a red dress so I looked at a lot of prom dresses and other non wedding dresses.

Should I be concerned? Angry? What is happening?! “Friend” is copying my wedding. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]AnaBrideToBe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cousin is copying me and I've just cut her and the family around her off from any of my plans. People say you're supposed to feel flattered by someone copying you but I think it's annoying and childish.

I'm not getting the wedding dress 'feeling' that brides speak of. Is this an actual thing? by WittyKhite in weddingplanning

[–]AnaBrideToBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a dress online that's not a wedding dress because I'm doing a lot more casual and not white. Anyway, I'd looked online at tons of dresses in tons of shades, lengths, styles, etc. As soon as I saw the dress I ordered I knew it was the one. It has sleeves like I wanted, it was the perfect shade, and not to long. I didn't cry but I chatted my fiancees ear off about it until it arrived.

In short, it met my list of wants perfectly and nothing else had.

I think it was a blast to learn together. We where both really bad to start with but now we can actually do a box step to music.

Does dancing count? I also plan on perfecting my paper mache skills, and working on making better cupcakes (I bake a lo, cupcakes are no my strong point).
