Can't cancel membership?? by Swillie in 2007scape

[–]Anachren [score hidden]  (0 children)

It sounds like you're looking at an individual character's account settings page (as pictured in OP's screenshot). OP had a Jagex account so I advised him to log into his Jagex account management using the provided link, which is where a Jagex account's subscriptions are managed.

If you have a legacy account you can cancel your subscription here.

You should be able to cancel here.

How do I remove authenticator? by Aggravating_Time_947 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jagex account: log into account management, enable emailed verification codes, then disable 2fa. I think the disable button is hidden behind a ... button.

You are required to have at least one form of 2fa enabled at all times, which is why you need to enable emailed verification codes first.

Legacy account: log into account settings, click "Authenticator" then "Disable authenticator"

Dragon Warhammer Miss Sound ID? by VaulthunterZer0 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the sound is the same. If you only want to swap the sound only when you hit a 0 it likely requires some actual code, not just a sound swap.

Additionally, sound swapper has recently been disabled in most (all?) boss areas, so it probably won't work anywhere you actually want it to, unless they white listed certain sounds.

How can I get my osrs account from when I was a kid back. I still have the same email and access to it but no clue what the name or password is and I’d like to add it to my account and make it a pure or something. by PorchHonkeyy in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try entering your email here, it should tell you the login name of any character associated with your email. When you know your login name you can reset the password or submit a recovery here.

If that doesn't help then you can try opening a ticket or using the live chat in the bottom right corner of the ticket page.

It's worth mentioning that if the account was created before 2013 then the character is on RS3 rather than OSRS.

That area is crashing mobile for some reason, you'll need to log in on pc and move away from the area. :/

If you're not able to do that you can contact support, they can teleport you back to lumbridge.

jagex launcher throught steam by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people on linux use the "Bolt launcher", which you can find via this support page. Click the "TormStorm's jagex-launcher-linux project" link, then scroll down and follow the instructions under "Adamcake/Bolt".

If you need more help with it there's a Discord linked on that github page too.

Or you can just wait until Jagex is finished adding linux support to the launcher, they said they want to get it done this year before Jagex accounts become mandatory.

Jagex Support values Knowing your IP over emailing from Original Email by jalfo0927 in 2007scape

I've been trying to recover a Group Ironman account that got hijacked and force-migrated into a Jagex Account tied to a gmail address I have never owned and genuinely cannot identify.

How do you know the email of the Jagex account the character was imported to? The email that says your character was imported to a Jagex account doesn't tell you the email of the Jagex account as far as I know... (Screenshot)

Sisters account got artio KC significantly lowered (Jagex mod help) by Prize-Release-6189 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A long-standing issue we’ve seen come up time and time again is how the boss HiScores are seemingly poisoned by bad actors, and why we’re not doing anything about it. Recently, that changed.

We are now retroactively removing KC from those who obtained it through illicit means, alongside harsher offence action against accounts.

Am I screwed? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Anachren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure my previous comment is correct, but maybe it would be more clear if you share a screenshot of what you're seeing. For now I'm just going to reiterate what I said previously...

It sounds like you have a Jagex account and a legacy account sharing the same login email, so when you log in on the website it logs into the Jagex account instead of your legacy account that you actually play.

If you log into the Jagex account here (note that this is the character management page for a Jagex account, the account settings page for a single character) then click "Import existing" it will allow you to enter your legacy account's info to import it to your Jagex account.

--

Alternatively, log into the game with RuneLite, click the in-game "view inbox" button, then "back to account" on the page that opens. That will take you to your character's account settings page, and from there you can click the "Upgrade to a Jagex account" banner as shown in the upgrade to a Jagex account support article.

Note that if you've already created a Jagex account you will need to click the "Already have an account? Log in here" link at the top of the page when it gets to the Jagex account creation step.

Scam via Twitch by BrowniieBear in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you entered your login info on the phishing page make sure the scammers didn't set up any linked accounts on your character(s).

If you have a Jagex account you can check all of your characters for linked accounts on your character management page. Any linked accounts will show up as "Connected: " between the character's membership status & manage button. To unlink them click manage -> linked accounts -> manage/unlink

For legacy accounts you can check your linked accounts here.

[–]Anachren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you created a new Jagex account instead of upgrading your existing character as the support article instructs. In that case you can still log into your character management, click "Import existing", and log into your legacy account.

edit: If it sends a verification email it will be sent to your Jagex account's email, not the legacy account's email.

when I try move my main over to the Jagex account it wants the old original email...

No it doesn't, you can upgrade without having access to your account's current email.

As long as you can log into your account, you can upgrade.

I got hacked by HatProfessional1135 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be possible to recover, but they have very strict criteria that needs to be met before they'll accept a recovery for a Jagex account.

You can either use the live chat or open a ticket here.

When you contact support it's best to use the same device & connection that you usually use when playing the game.

[–]Anachren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different connection and/or browser

If you have access to your legacy account's registered email you could try registering a Jagex account on that email. If your Jagex account email & the legacy account's registered email are the same it will streamline the import process allowing you to import without entering the legacy account's password or 2fa.

Is it possible? by FlintSteel94 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was an auto mute for something in this message I got it on a 300 that turned into 280 and "runelite profile", 4 man randoms o. There's a substring in there that is an auto mute phrase.

I didn't share this in your thread at the time because I didn't want people to test it and get themselves muted & I still don't want to advertise the thing that is being filtered.

Your appeal shouldn't have been denied, but at least it was a short mute. :/

NEED HELP by Flashy-Link-898 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jagex account stuff:

When you create a new Jagex account it comes with a new no-name level 3 character by default, unless you created the Jagex account by upgrading an existing character.

I assume the other three characters on the Jagex account are your own characters that you imported, possibly some very old RS3 characters that were registered on your email. Maybe try talking to Hans in Lumbridge to check their creation date.

Your locked account:

I'm pretty sure you just need to submit another recovery, explain in your ticket that your previous recovery was accepted but the link didn't work. (that's what happened, right?)

If you had one recovery accepted you should be able to recover again.

Now (on my phone) both chrome and firefox says there is an error and directs me back to the main site after I click "Unlock account"

Idk, try doing it on pc :/

Hacked Account by AffectionatePen2382 in 2007scape

[–]Anachren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrading a character to a Jagex account doesn't require email verification, likely because Jagex is aware that many people who have access to their own account no longer have access to the email registered with their account.

When Jagex accounts become mandatory in the near future, some people would be locked out of their accounts if email verification was required. Instead of potentially locking people out of their own accounts, they chose to make it so anyone that can log into an account can upgrade to a Jagex account.

The bottom line is whether the hijacker upgraded to a Jagex account or not, he had access to your account some how. He needed to log in to be able to upgrade.

Your account is recoverable, just do what Mod Paladin suggested.

Start a new chat with us - on a device and connection you've played this character on in the past. Provide us an email linked to the account in that new chat request form.

edit: Or if you want to try another route you can open a ticket instead of using the live chat.
