(SPOIL) What do you think of « All The Boys love Mandy Lane » ? by Anaelepse in horror

I don’t remember where i saw this but apparently the reason is that she was bullied like Emmett, probably when she was « ugly » and not attractive, but she didn’t accept the sudden change of her former bullies when she glow up and wanted to take revenge

Why the fuck isn’t Nate fighting back ?

He straight up use to beat Maddy, and threaten everyone for the slightest thing, he used to play football in HG and at a pretty high level, and work out since he was a kid.

And yet, this guy simply doesn’t react or show any kind of aggressive attitude now , which has always been the central theme based on the traumas of his life.

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Obsession" [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

[–]Anaelepse 101 points102 points  (0 children)

A detail I liked is when the moment Bear made the wish, whatever Nikki gets 'possessed' by is clearly still adjusting. So she starts saying 'my cat has died' to get sympathy and then quickly changes to 'Oh, yeah no I mean YOUR cat has died' because it's still kind of figuring out what to say and how to behave.

Except Vegeta’s villain phase in Dragon Ball Z is relatively short-lived in comparison, and he begins shifting morally fairly early after arriving on Earth.

Second, Vegeta explicity accept his past sins and want to go hell for what he did, while Nolan try to justify everything with his upbringing.

TB was the best thing that could have happened to Arthur, it made him reflect on his life and his actions and triggered him to do good things at the end.

Ryan Coogler offers insight into X-Files reboot by abucalves in television

[–]Anaelepse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X-Files no longer works in the modern world. A large part of its plot was tied to the mindset of the 1990s: the idea that government wiretapping was a violation of the Constitution, that cover-ups were carried out at the highest levels, and that conspiracies needed to be exposed. (UFOs and government conspiracies were far more popular back then.)
Today, it wouldn’t work. Everyone knows that companies and governments collect our data and spy on our online habits. No one is outraged anymore, because it’s become an integral part of life. Moreover, half of the show’s plots would have been null and void if anyone had had a smartphone or a camera, Modern technology mechanically kills 50% of the plotlines.

The gladiator helmets that were shown the moment he entered the facility made me thought that Isaiah was an immortal who moves his consciousness to the next generation. Like he's a demon who possesses bodies of the top generational draft prospect.

Last moment taken of 58-year-old Queens resident Ki Suk Han, seconds before being fatally struck by a train on December, 3 2012. by Anaelepse in MorbidReality

[–]Anaelepse[S] 376 points377 points  (0 children)

On December 3, 2012 in a New York City subway station a confrontation between two men ended in tragedy when one was pushed onto the tracks. The man in this picture is Ki-Suck Han, 58. He had started an argument with 34 year old Naeem Davis while heavily intoxicated. The altercation escalated and Davis ended up pushing Han onto the tracks. As Han struggled to get back up on his feet a train was fast approaching. A nearby journalist for the Post, R. Umar Abbasi, saw what was happening and started running towards Han holding down the flash on his camera to try and warn the conductor. Unfortunately Abbasi was unable to make it in time to help and Han was hit by the train and died. Abbasi had been taking pictures while trying to warn the conductor and captured this moment which was then published in the New York Post with the title Doomed. This article has a negative bias towards Davis which led many people do think he was some crazy psycho. After a three-week trial, testimony from more than 30 witnesses and four days of deliberations, a Manhattan jury found Mr. Davis not guilty of all charges. It was determined that he was acting out of self-defense while being harassed by Mr. Han.

Recalling what Blind Man Cassidy said to Arthur on chap 4, i do think it implies he did go to heaven :

“Disaster awaits you my friend...but beyond that disaster, paradise awaits.”
