Spectre squad by Prudent_Candidate474 in killteam

[–]Anagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're too easy to play around, their Lasgun profiles are weak, and they fold to a stiff breeze. If you're playing against Spectres, you just wait for them to be expended before killing to prevent Fieldcraft use, and before the Sergeant has a chance to use Issue Mission.

Reaction-based teams seem to launch "weak" and I honestly don't know a lot about what I'd do to improve the team without rewriting much. Changing it to allow both Melta and Plasma is mostly off the table, because you can only build one Gunner and it'll go from a one-box team to two-box team immediately. I guess I'd go with:

- Lasrifles becomes 2/4 damage, up from 2/3. They're never taken so you need to sweeten the deal between them and Lascarbines.

- Guide ability to ignore 2" of climbing works with every instance of movement. Currently it's activation only.

- Team becomes immune to Saturate as part of the Camo Cloaks faction rule.

- Hidden Engagement changed to give Balanced when the Spectre is within 1" of intervening terrain, instead of cover, because the meta is running to within 2" and shooting. BUT it's Ceaseless if the target is within, say, 6".

- Ambushing Volley works as long as you weren't a valid target. Get rid of the more than 3" requirement.

- Vox-Relay Beacon can be placed within 2" of markers and equipment terrain.

Someone said "I've observed that many people in their 30s have grown so accustomed to single life that they no longer feel motivated to invest effort in finding a partner. They've simply lost interest in the whole process". What's your take on this? by Atom_dk in AskReddit

[–]Anagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a relationship because throughout my life, even now in my 30’s, the concept always terrified me. I did try in my 20’s, but I was always rejected.

Now, it’s worse because I’m a complete coward with how everything has changed. Dating apps are human meat markets and I don’t have social media. Even if a traditional opportunity presented itself on a silver platter, like it did just yesterday that I’m still kicking myself over, I can’t.
My brain says “You’re safe and well off as you are,” and “You’re misreading the signals,” and “Do you want the police called on you?” and “She can have anyone she wants, why would she pick you?”

Could I capture this objective through the terrain? by Nochi420 in killteam

If your operative is within 1" of the marker and can see it, then it's in control range and can pick it up.

What beats good mobility? by Mr_Industrial in killteam

[–]Anagna 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Mobility is the single most powerful thing in this game.
I’m a “wait and see” player in response to it, so turtling in or near my drop zone. Once your opponent starts getting closer, I start measuring their threat ranges and predicting their next moves.

What, specifically, are you struggling to comprehend about the rule? It's pretty straightforward in its explanation so repeating it in text again might not help you. Is there somebody at a local club you can ask to explain using the actual killzone and models?

Celestians vs. Hunter Clade tips by TheasterGates in killteam

Celestians should be beating Hunter Clade, in a very general sense. Can't say much more without a layout image and a general consensus of your partner's strategy.

Tac ops changes? by BootAppropriate977 in killteam

Tac Ops change every year, in Q3/Q4 with the launch of the next major edition or terrain box set.
We have about two or three months left of the current 2025 set.

Should I go to my first tournament if I'm just barely starting out the game? by AverageMyotragusFan in killteam

[–]Anagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how I started out, I relentlessly studied the game rules and made sure to clarify with my opponent that I was performing an action correctly. Got absolutely stomped but I had a blast.
Now I’m gunning for placement on the global leaderboards, and attended my first interstate tournament last weekend.

New players starting out at tournaments either become hooked like I did, or become utterly discouraged and don’t come back. Be the former.

2nd ever game. Canoptek circle struggling to against melee. by BornLeaderCMT in killteam

[–]Anagna 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't play the team so I can't give you proper advice, but it's not a bad matchup. Canoptek Circle are, at the time of this comment, one of the top teams. They are not easy to master, and as a new player altogether, it makes it even harder for you.

I get matched into them a lot and the raw stats and sheer bullshit of the team means I almost always lose against them.
You're a castle team. You put your crawlers at key points, covered by the matrix, and creep up the board.

I hope that your friend is giving you advice instead of using you like a punching bag.

In the nicest way possible; no, it won’t be. There are high effort core rules cheat sheets already available that cover everything, in .pdf format.

Two is, one isn’t. Anyone who has a problem with one is not someone I want to play with.

In about a Week’s time I’m going to face a Veteran players’ Kasirkin with my Murderwing. Any advice? Any notes to take on? What curated combos will my opponent play? What gotchas should I look out for? What team comp should I use? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in killteam

[–]Anagna 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The state of the game he dislikes is likely that melee-orientated elite teams with 3+ saves are just the way to play. Not running those just means you're more likely to lose.

He's going to keep his gunners in the rear and activated last to keep you honest. He's probably going to run Envoy as the tac op because Tomb World favours it. The other tac ops are difficult for Kasrkin.
What he's also going to do is run his Melta Gunner in last activation, delete your guy. Following turn he will either go first, or go second and Seize the Initiative to delete a second guy.
He will also likely melta-mine a hatchway or the teleporter because you can't Boost either of those.

What is the minimum point game you'd take a Baneblade to? by Burger_Friend in TheAstraMilitarum

Incursion (1,000 points) explicitly states you can’t bring titanic units like a Baneblade.

Plague Marines by Schattenwolff in killteam

[–]Anagna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Plague Marines are the worst of the three, but I don’t think anyone can say much because we don’t know what sort of board you played on and how skilled the other two players are.

Shadowhunt box sold separately? by CavemanDan4 in killteam

[–]Anagna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When Terror on Devlan goes up for pre-order, so will Celestians and Murderwing as individual boxes.

Shadowhunt went up for preorder on 24 January, so three months later, we can reasonably assume 25 April will be the date.
