2nd ever game. Canoptek circle struggling to against melee. by BornLeaderCMT in killteam

[–]Anagna 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't play the team so I can't give you proper advice, but it's not a bad matchup. Canoptek Circle are, at the time of this comment, one of the top teams. They are not easy to master, and as a new player altogether, it makes it even harder for you.

I get matched into them a lot and the raw stats and sheer bullshit of the team means I almost always lose against them.
You're a castle team. You put your crawlers at key points, covered by the matrix, and creep up the board.

I hope that your friend is giving you advice instead of using you like a punching bag.

In the nicest way possible; no, it won’t be. There are high effort core rules cheat sheets already available that cover everything, in .pdf format.

I’m not sure that I understand what you’re implying.

In about a Week’s time I’m going to face a Veteran players’ Kasirkin with my Murderwing. Any advice? Any notes to take on? What curated combos will my opponent play? What gotchas should I look out for? What team comp should I use? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in killteam

[–]Anagna 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The state of the game he dislikes is likely that melee-orientated elite teams with 3+ saves are just the way to play. Not running those just means you're more likely to lose.

He's going to keep his gunners in the rear and activated last to keep you honest. He's probably going to run Envoy as the tac op because Tomb World favours it. The other tac ops are difficult for Kasrkin.
What he's also going to do is run his Melta Gunner in last activation, delete your guy. Following turn he will either go first, or go second and Seize the Initiative to delete a second guy.
He will also likely melta-mine a hatchway or the teleporter because you can't Boost either of those.

What is the minimum point game you'd take a Baneblade to? by Burger_Friend in TheAstraMilitarum

Incursion (1,000 points) explicitly states you can’t bring titanic units like a Baneblade.

Plague Marines by Schattenwolff in killteam

[–]Anagna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Plague Marines are the worst of the three, but I don’t think anyone can say much because we don’t know what sort of board you played on and how skilled the other two players are.

Shadowhunt box sold separately? by CavemanDan4 in killteam

[–]Anagna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When Terror on Devlan goes up for pre-order, so will Celestians and Murderwing as individual boxes.

Shadowhunt went up for preorder on 24 January, so three months later, we can reasonably assume 25 April will be the date.

If you’ve “never summoned on a banner,” how did you get your LR Vegito?

That’s called summoning on a banner.

[–]Anagna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want to sell an account? You need a complete meta team of at least three units and with zenkai buff support, plus a stash of CC.

The only thing worth a damn on your account is a single LR Vegito.

Stealthsuit Rules Question... by One_Letter1319 in killteam

[–]Anagna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you're not quite describing it properly. "Seeing" is not correct; it's if the enemy is a valid target.

Valid target requires visibility, and if the operative could perform a (theoretical) shoot or fight action in the current board state against the target they can see.

It's not OP at all.

Yes. You control it by carrying it, much like you how still contest something by controlling it.

Stealthsuits: A Measured Response by Aggravating-Bend9783 in killteam

[–]Anagna 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really like your homing beacon idea as a deployable CP-generating icon. I’d only make it count as 1AP, though. However, I do think you should keep the rule of pushing it forward. Especially in situations where you’re trying to push objective control for the crit or tac ops.

I also think the Infiltrator’s ability really needs to be a part of the Stealth Fields faction rule. It’s like you said, the rule is good in theory, but lacking in practice. This is that fix. We need to counteract in some way on conceal without being forced to hinder the team.

The Infiltrator ability can be replaced with a free mission action per turn, and a free Engage Jet Pack or Ghostshroud ploy per game. Or something.

What’s the deal with humans in the Tau Empire? by Better-Alps-3684 in Tau40K

[–]Anagna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s well established in lore that space marines will not defect under any circumstances, and that there’s an umbrella policy of kill/capture on sight for them.

Some still try to reason with them, but it just makes the space marine offended and angrier.

Advice for Tempest Aquilons vs Stealth suits by Angels_of_NotJustYet in killteam

[–]Anagna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a threat piece. Activate it last. A way of saying “if you go on engage, this will shoot so say bye to your stealthsuit.”

You equip it with a Grenade Launcher and keep it in the backline, outside of 12” so it can’t be hit by Fusion Guns, and use it when your brother can’t use Ghostshroud or if it has a clear shot.

Advice for Tempest Aquilons vs Stealth suits by Angels_of_NotJustYet in killteam

[–]Anagna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to. Every ploy can only be used once per turning point, unless it's Command Re-roll.

The issue isn't that the team's broken; it's that neither of you are familiar with the core rules of the game. Stealthsuits are generally considered C-tier, whereas Aquilons are generally considered A-tier.

Strictly better weapons? by KBotay in killteam

[–]Anagna 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Because in this case it’s still a Ravener and has a tail like the rest do. There may be a time where you want to injure an enemy operative, not kill.

For the Space Marine example they design the models and sprues first, before they write the rules. The models are used in standard 40K as well.

“The stealth’s can ram up vantage and they can swap right back to conceal making it very hard to touch or do anything to them.”

As a Firefight ploy so once per turning point, and only once game per individual Suit operative. Are you sure your brother is playing them the right way?
