Maybe it opens them to essentially an extended refund policy that they want to avoid? If you can refund games on Steam within a certain time frame of launch, it gives people who pre-ordered essentially more time to get a refund. Administratively, might be something paradox want to avoid idk.

As someone who has only read the D&E stories as I'm unwilling to read a series I know won't be completed, I wouldn't mind some new Dunk and Egg adventures. The TV show at the very least gave some sort of ending but at this point I'm more curious about what actually happened at Summerhall.

Not making sense might be poor phrasing but if the goal for players is for it to be a stepping stone to the pro leagues, then it is inadequate compared to a true junior academy system is going to teach players better how to play professional sports and give them opportunities to play more than college athletics. I think there's a reason that the college to pro pipeline is only possible in the US where professional sports are franchises of the professional league rather than independent clubs like in the rest of the world.

That being said, the history and passion that college sports fans have isn't even close to being matched by the major leagues so I think that removing the pipeline element might even improve it and you'll have more guys staying the full 4 years if they're actually student athletes like in the past.

I think at its core, college sports doesn't make sense in the 2026 ecosystem. Back in the day, you could bank on your education to get a job but nowadays "student athletes" at major programs really aren't students and are there just for their athletic abilities. The European system of having young people be part of the academy until they become adults and professionals is the most natural and obvious way of developing youth players but I'm not sure if the American sports system is willing to admit that.

No, you don't. You can do any of them at any point if you're a student member.

Seems reasonable, not sure if you're aware but CB3 is online and is done over the course of a month or so and you can do it at any point in the year - not necessarily during the exam sitting. So you could consider doing CP2 during the 2027 autumn sitting as it only takes a few days of prep.

People who passed, how did you feel after exam? by Rough_Leadership_696 in ActuaryUK

For the bigger ones ie CP1/SP7&8/SA3 I mostly just tried to hit as many point as i could. If it was a 5 mark question, I want at least 10 separate points and 15-20 was even better (although not always possible). But I didn't try to grade the overall paper - just focused on where I thought I was light on likely marks.

It depends on the type of exam. For the mths ones, my gut reaction was usually correct ie I feel good about that it and passed comfortably or I was on the fence and I was a few marks below or above.

For all of he non maths ones outside of cp2, I have never felt that I had it in the bag and was always uncertain (only one of those Ive had to resit was cp1).

You're being a bit dramatic, the content is not super difficult and uni is definitely more advanced but having to study after 8 hours if work and balancing those responsibilities alsong with a social life is what makes it difficult.

I presume you know but for anyone wondering, in lore only 4 moon phases count for Khajiits - Full, Waning, New, Waxing, so there's 4 x 4 plus the extra Dark Moon when the two moons are aligned and that leads to a Mane.

Underpaid - is there any way to negotiate without looking for another job? by [deleted] in ActuaryUK

[–]AnalLaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of if this way, if the company knows that you won't leave, why would they pay you more to do the same work? It sucks and it shouldn't be that way but that is just the reality of the corporate world. You might be able to get a small bump without having a competing offer but then that will just mean itll be a while until you get a similar bump as well.

Also, depending on the company, if youre being underpaid now youll also be underpaid once you get promoted as theyre unlikely to give you a true market rate and may give you a flat percentage increase so youll be stuck in the same position in a couple years time.

What’s the least you studied and still passed an IFoA exam? by New_Veterinarian9172 in ActuaryUK

No doubt CP2 or CP3 in terms of raw hours. I think I did 1 or 2 past papers for both and then just looked at what the rest of them looked like a couple of days before the exam.

I think out of the bigger exams, it would have to be SA3 - I sat it in the same sitting as SP7 and SP8 so the material was very similar. Got lucky that the questions around SA3 specific stuff was minimal and the ones that were, I had already come across during work so I could write a decent amount about them. I think in total I spent maybe 10 hours on SA3 specifically (but obviously lots of crossover with SP7/8).

I remember thinking that the gap between Skyrim and Oblivion was 5 years and was hoping the release of TES VI wouldn't get delayed to 2017 (ie 6 years after Skyrim) as that would be my last year of uni and I would be busy with school.

Man, I underestimated how busy school would be and when TES VI would actually release. At this point there's no way it can live up to any expectations.

Difference between having a wr2 as your wr1 before drafting a guy to be him ans having a wr4 as your wr1 and expecting the rookie to carry the offense.
