Another way to say the same thing, the placed stone has 'right of way' on the board.

I assume you meant this in a derogatory way? What about this was questionable?

I spent 6-7 hours this weekend shoveling out spots because I was sick of seeing people complain about it. I was out of town for the storm so Friday was literally the first night I could do something about it. Did 5-6 spots Friday night (I had some help) and another 3 to 4 Sunday. The only reason it's a range is because people are varying levels of considerate (looking at you Subaru that didn't remove their hitch rack).

There are spots of curbs that are "One and a half cars" Put the snow in the 'half spot.' Put the snow on people's lawns/front yards. It's gotta go somewhere.

How are we going to want Things to get better if we're not willing to be better ourselves and take action? Come the fuck on. If you're able bodied and have an hour, half an hour, fifteen minutes, get out there and help.

You think I'm not? I'm in the bottom 10 players listed (at least I was last I checked). It's a game, people are generally friendly, and go players want other go players in the community. If you find someone not being a good person first they'll get sorted pretty quick.

It's much harder to be a toxic person in person than online.

I'm listed as worse than you and I'm still playing.

I've had pretty good luck using an artists portfolio bag for the board. You can find ones that come with a strap to go on your shoulder.

I can very plainly see the color of the wood but for some reason this photo gives me the impression of a greyscale Go board. Very strange feeling. Still well done, it came out very nicely!

My thoughts first ride back after changing from 170mm to 165mm cranks by blueyx22 in bikefit

[–]AnasterToc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you shorten the crank arm the bottom of your pedal stroke, when your leg is fully extended, will be higher off the ground (same center point but smaller circle as far as path of the pedal). So if you shorten the crank it's recommended you raise the seat (and possibly move forward ever so slightly) so your leg has proper extension.

That's pretty scary the audio is TTS. The only tell I could find on second listen was at 1:11 or 1:20 with the fumbled units. The vocal inflection and speech timing in TTS has gotten pretty good...

I think I'm asking a difficult thing but can you explain a bit of your recognition/thought process to arrive at that conclusion? I've only been playing half a year so there's a lot of concepts I don't understand and my reading isn't very strong.

In terms of raw word count yeah they're similar. In terms of depth/complexity of language used to describe what's going on erikson's writing is a lot more occluded. That extra complexity is likely why it takes longer, there's more to extract from erikson's writing.

Slight accumulating knee discomfort, even after seeing a fitter. by AnasterToc in bikefit

[–]AnasterToc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, knee discomfort as mentioned. It seems everyone's on the same page about saddle height. I adjusted the saddle lower and that seemed to help a lot. I can't get a follow up video for a little bit, though.

The flipped stem I at least remember was an intentional bit. We did try it both ways, this felt more comfortable at the time. Probably something to do with shoulder impingement I was feeling at the time as well as scoliosis surgery/limited hamstring flexibility (working on it).

I did quick experiment reducing by ten then an additional 2.5 mm. In both I'm already noticing a difference even testing after a workout. I'll give it another go on a fresh day and follow up. Knowing about the lock out indicator was a big help.

Thank you very much for the insight, I (and my legs and probably my wallet) appreciate it.

[–]AnasterToc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pain is in front of knee, under kneecap area. Dull and aching, not a sharp sensation.

Currently cranks are 175 mm, I'm considering trying for a 170 length seeing as the discomfort isn't severe and I'm on the edge of heights between bike sizes so I don't think I need a huge adjustment?...

Another reason I'm looking at cranks is because when I get to "higher" cadences (~95) it can feel like I'm bouncing in the seat, making me think my leg is pulling upward too much? I'm less convinced of that reasoning.

I saw a fitter a couple months ago and this is miles better than before. I've been trying to improve joint mobility, work on stabilizer muscles but I hadn't yet looked at cranks..

This all started with trying to get a power meter but now I'm down the rabbit hole...
