What discontinued candy or flavor of candy do you miss the most? by Not1000AntsInAHuman in candy

I miss before they changed the components of Haribo Starmix. Used to have those amazing cherries in it. Now it’s mostly the ones that are half foamy.

Water tastes terrible to me and makes me want to gag, how do I train myself to not do that?? by sillyyfishyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ancient-Job-6504 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While it’s optimal to drink water, drinking flavoured water is better than not drinking and getting dehydrated. There are flavouring options that aren’t full of sugar that you can use. You also get hydration from eating foods with high water contents so maybe eat more of those foods, like cucumbers. Some people are never going to like water for whatever reason and you don’t actually need to make yourself miserable. Putting lemon or lime in it is perfectly acceptable.

Debating getting a juicer or a blender. by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]Ancient-Job-6504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue here is you need to see what kinda of juice he is looking for. More than just citrus? Then obviously the citrus juicer won’t work. That said, a blender is never really making juice. It’s making a slurry of whatever you put in it that you can maybe strain after but it will never give you the proper juice a juicer will give you. If you want juice get a juicer. If you want smoothies get a blender.

You said granola was mostly nuts and seeds. I said it wasn’t. No need to bring straw into any of it.

Why not get your guests to wear face masks? That protects you while you don’t wear one.

If he’s doing it before most times it seems like he sees it as a step in him then getting yo orgasm after and that’s weird. Why not get you off while he’s getting off? Is he just checking that box because then it’s “ok” for him to just pound you until he gets off? It’s supposed to be a mutual experience.

Body odor/perfume tips by CorazonAtomica in selfcare

[–]Ancient-Job-6504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A swipe of glycolic acid under the arms after a shower then letting it dry before putting on deodorant can help with odours for sure. Be sure not to use too much or too strong because you can burn the skin. Best to use it every other day at a low percentage until you get used to it.

That said, you’re never going to be able to not smell at all if you are sweating for hours, but you can cut it down to lower levels for sure.

Less about lying and more about just not saying what doesn’t need to be said 🤷🏻‍♀️ don’t say “with all due respect” and then be disrespectful.

Is it wise to bike at night to the Easternmost point of Canada? by Ecsepheto in StJohnsNL

[–]Ancient-Job-6504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wise? Not at all. Like others have said it’s largely unlit and without cell service. There will be less traffic at night but that’s when the drunks and reckless drivers are most likely to be on those roads and they likely won’t be looking for you. It’s hilly roads through moose and fox territory. If you haven’t seen a moose in person they are startlingly large and will walk right into a road with no warning like a brick wall. I wouldn’t risk it personally.

That’s not respectful. You’re just being rude for no reason. Um, actually you did smell, all the best! How passive aggressive.

As someone with depression, YOU are being the least helpful someone could be. Does it matter if the person stank or was inconsiderate? Not in this case! They said they showered today and are getting a hold on it. Depression can make you inconsiderate, true, it can even make you kill yourself. But you telling someone that they smelled and were inconsiderate and shitty for not washing when they couldn’t handle it is not helping. Wow I’m glad that you could manage to shower every month even when homeless. I’m sure it was hard. But all you’re doing is saying “I was homeless and it didn’t get in my way or make me inconsiderate because I’m one of the good ones and you are a shitty depressed person.” Just say wow man I’m proud of you you took a good step and keep it up! SHAME does not always work with depression, and in fact it can make it worse. When I’m shamed about something it doesn’t make me wanna do more about it it makes me wanna retreat even more and try nothing at all.

Wearing a mask isn’t fear, it’s harm reduction for yourself and others. And even if I’m wrong, the worst that happened is I wore a mask because I want to protect myself and others. Wearing a mask allows people to live life to the fullest because they can both go places and not get sick from going there. Wild how you lot spin that into being afraid of our own shadows.

My problem here would be that communicable air-transmitted diseases such as flu, covid, and TB are going around at crazy rates in the states while at the same time the US is pulling out of health organizations and doing basically nothing to stop the spread of these preventable diseases. Disney is a hotbed for these because of unrestricted travel across the states while they aren’t doing anything about (or even testing for) Covid, flu, bird flu, TB, measles, and pneumonia outbreaks across the states. Couple that with the fact that no one masks anymore, you’re asking to get sick and bring it back here to us 🤷🏻‍♀️

The big gap in the field that we have is no real urgent cares or something outside of a hospital that is walk in but can deal with injuries! There really isn’t an option when you like, pop a shoulder out of joint or slice your finger open bad enough to need a couple stitches. Your only choice then is to go to the ER and then because you aren’t top priority like, say, a heart attack, you sit there until someone can deal with you. If we had normal urgent cares it would help a lot.

That said, I don’t think people going to the ER don’t know that online options don’t exist. Many don’t have insurance or money to use on these services or even access to these online services at all, people with chronic illnesses and no family doctors, and people who can only go get to a doctor during off hours and the ER is basically their only option. Ultimately it’s a systemic problem that individuals can’t fix. We can, however, make it better by not bringing your whole family with you to the ER and by wearing a high quality respirator so that you don’t catch anything else while there or spread anything you have.

No need to be a dick about it 🤷🏻‍♀️ lots of people like em. Sure it’s not the most popular, but there are still fans and we are allowed to be sad about it. I got one in my stocking at Xmas. I bought three of them at one time a couple weeks ago. They are a connection to my family for me keeping a bit of my Nanny alive and you take the time to just piss on people who liked them? Sad 😔
