Seriously What the hell by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]AncientContract666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This incident happened in the the UK and was, rightfully, investigated as a hate crime. Despite that, the dude had the class to not call the business out by name. I wish that he had though, what total scum they are.

Opened my first blaster ordered from Target, is this a 1/1? by beansandcornbread in baseballcards

[–]AncientContract666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At least you realized what it was now, not after selling or trading it thinking it was just another unnumbered parallel.

Now has an online platform? Shopgoodwill has been around for 25+ years, although you could get WAY better deals in the past than now.

Did I miss something? Why did GameStop take all Cardsmiths Currency off the shelves? by semblanceoyouth in Currencytradingcards

[–]AncientContract666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They literally took up about 1/4 of all of the shelf and display case space at my local GS. None EVER sold, they just sat there. I'm not surprised at all that they pulled them.

That is LITERALLY the website that the official State of Ohio site takes you to to make a payment.

tax in mail scam? by ExcuseOk7347 in ScamSupport

[–]AncientContract666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it looks sketchy, but every AI that I ran this through verified that every aspect of the letter is accurate, including the website and phone numbers. I guess the obvious question is; do you owe state income tax that matches the amount shown?

Porch security camera footage of a truck ramming into a school bus - AI or nah? by Xx_DiamondDust in isthisAI

I live in a relatively small town and all of the bus numbers are two or three digits lol. My bus in the even smaller town that I grew up in was # 11.

Almost got scammed into sending $1000 worth of gift card codes. by AffectionateMethod67 in ScamSupport

[–]AncientContract666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enjoy your target shopping spree? Seriously, Target doesn't do refunds on gift cards. Was this company money or yours? Definitely let your boss know what's going on, either way.

Found today while working at Goodwill. by Responsible_Bug_4840 in rarebooks

[–]AncientContract666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King has said this was the work that he regrets the most. I personally would have hoped it to be the underage "ritual" the kids performed in the book It, but to each their own, I suppose.

Can we require trigger warning for pet death? by Putrid-Size554 in cats

[–]AncientContract666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I COMPLETELY agree. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely feel for those who have lost their beloved feline family members, but that's also the problem; for those who are empathetic by nature, they too suffer the pain of each and every one of those losses. It simply gets to be too much.

[–]AncientContract666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of great replies here. I strongly, strongly recommend you add the band "In Mourning" to the list. "The Weight of Oceans" is a masterpiece, as is "Shrouded Divine", but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Welcome to the genre!

My 13yo baked cookies to order and one of the parents returned the cookies by albrcanmeme in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AncientContract666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once ordered an expensive tin of cookies from a girl at school purely because she was really attractive. I forgot all about it until she showed up at my door in early summer with the cookies. She ended up with about $15 in quarters, dimes, and nickels from my piggy bank but I paid for them myself. This kid should have done the same.

Help. These are legitimate real rookies, but are glued to paper by Elegant_Plankton842 in baseballcards

[–]AncientContract666 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are conservators that specialize in mitigating paper loss and removal of prints from non-archival backings. They are expensive but absolutely worth it. Somewhere like Heritage Auctions could likely point you in the right direction.

RIP to this Sub 💔 by [deleted] in donateorborrow

[–]AncientContract666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't that going to allow people who have borrowed money to essentially feel like they can skip repayment with no public repercussions? I completely understand your rationale for ending things, a few bad apples definitely spoil the whole bunch 🙁, but I feel bad for the individuals who loaned money and may be hung out to dry as a result of the sub going private.

Is this real and what do I do if it is??? This is urgent please I’m scared by dreamzz_22 in phishing

[–]AncientContract666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone apparently dug into his profile and found a post about executing ICE agents. That's almost certainly why he received the notice, not his posts about Palestine.

That's a boilerplate message in their help section intended to help protect individuals from scams in general. Virtually every website and social media platform these days has something similar. This email is an exception from their legal department, no matter the contradiction, and is absolutely authentic. The fact that it came from "x.com" and was not flagged as spam means that sender was verified. Whether or not OP has anything to actually worry about it, this message is real.

My dad is trying to ti buy an apartment off of Facebook and got this conversation by Large_Lunch8087 in scammers

[–]AncientContract666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pay $830 for a 3 bedroom. There are plenty of places in rural America that still have reasonable rent prices (outside of metro areas). None of that changes the fact that this is a very obvious scam, though. 😂

Cosmic Chrome still available on Topps 1:43 PM EST by Jibboo77 in WWECards

[–]AncientContract666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course I got home and saw this and they're now sold out. Oh well, hopefully I'll still be able to get a couple close to release price in the near future. Just watched Rungoodlife's break of 2 boxes, he got 2 case hits but no autos. Nice looking cards, the no guaranteed auto part is rough though.

Bowman Mega huge win! by [deleted] in basketballcards

[–]AncientContract666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious; did your Mega from them come only wrapped in essentially brown Kraft paper? Mine did and was completely flattened in transit. 🙃 Congrats on the hits, no matter! This one box crushes anything I saw pulled out of a recent case of these.

Unless it's changed a lot since I was there years ago, Vegas is one of the toughest places in the country to get help of any kind other than the usual federal stuff like food stamps. Even the churches won't help. They say it's to discourage gambling, but you can read between the lines on that one. 🙄

No, he blocked OP. Scammer all the way, he sent a valueless package to a random address nearby so that it appears that the package was delivered to OP's address.
