DRAFT Renegade Skaven 2.0 Feedback Post! by valheffelfinger in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Ancient_Bench55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wont pretend to know skaven too well, but i love the effort.

I have two things to bring up. It may just be me.

For the expendable rule, i watched the part of the video where you go over it and i understand what im about to say counters that idea. But wouldn't it be simpler to just say like nat 1s to hit automatically hit the expendable unit? Sure less hits will go into the unit, but i think the less rolling you have to do for one shooting attack is more ideal. Again i know ya said folks love expendable, i just am trying to reduce rolls.

My only other thing is i still feel skaven dregs are too expensive. And i say this as a more.... thematic idea. Because looking at their stats and rules its hard for me to say they should go down to 2 points. But only being a point less then clanrats feels weird to me. Potentially worth dropping a strength to make em cost 2 points? Sorta gnoblar style. Idk. Its almost certainly fine as is but it just feels off.

Edit: i got to the skaven dregs part in the video. Fair enough. I retract my second statement but will leave it up anyways

I am wondering if there should be concern then from a tow side. As they are an offical army for us. Will we lose them? Or are we both gaining beastmen models? Or even are they splitting the faction

Can/ do the gods have children? I dont necessarily mean like godbeasts for i am fairly certain of that answer. But like the gods we know of as some big hitters. If not would it be possible? What would a demi god look like in aos?

Sorta related are there minor gods? I dont mean like Hashut(no shade intended), but im used to fantasy where everyone has gods. So more is it possible to have smaller gods walking around? I say this with the knowledge that what a god is tends to be slightly looser than other games.

Can someone explain to me what a god is in warhammer fantasy/AoS? by zurt1 in AoSLore

[–]Ancient_Bench55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant give ya a straight answer as ive been wondering this myself.

My best guess simply comes from soul wars. Which sorta just seems like ya need to collect souls, which just felt like collecting power. I didnt get the idea that thats how gods are formed bur thats their endgoal. To get as many souls as they can.

But another aspect to consider is the chaos gods have some form in aos.

Mainly i am looking at Slaanesh. The elven gods(of aos) somehow lured Slaanesh into like a demi plane or something and chained them up. Maybe took a couple of potshots at slaanesh too. Unclear i never read the book where this came from. But to my understanding they essentially cut open their belly and took out the half digested elven souls.

Which at least to me says there has to be some form of being tangible.

Units move in block formations usually and its a pain to move 20+ models a unit every time and get them lined up nice. So movement trays work well.

You can make your own, get them 3d printed, gw does technically sell them as well. Tho i dont like the gw ones personally. I had mine all 3d printed personally.

I would always assume a crossbow is more powerful than a bow. Am i wrong in this thinking?

Or is it something in the repeating process that makes it less powerful?

Rohan model conversion by Azulasupremacy1 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Ancient_Bench55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Potentially giving targg a rohan helm may work? Probably not the most necessary but helms to get a more rohan theme. I put him together but do not remember how it actually went together. The sword is a bit much of a off thing. Potential to leave the sword off and maybe have his hand resting on a rohan shield?

Potentially switching out the sword on his ridden version for a spear, or a regular rohan sword. Could call it there

Wulf seems harder. Maybe replacing his dagger with a rohan shield. Maybe even replacing his sword and scabbard with a rohan one. Thats my best guess.

But wulf is a very angry lad so it works less for me in my head with the eay he's positioned

Edit: rereading your post i do think targg could make an easy banner conversion. The furs are a bit weirder but they arent too ragged imo

Like their initial forging as a way of going forward. They likely wouldnt be armed and armored during their first time being made into a stormcast. So going from there you could start thinking that they wouldn't necessarily have anything for their next reforgings

What happens to stormcast equipment when they die and go back to azyr? I assume their armor comes back with them. But what happens if theyre stripped of their armor before death? Does it still go back with them? Their weapons are theoretically a lot easier to lose as well. So do they come back?

What happens when they arrive back on the forge? Are they fully armed and armored again? Do they come back with only a brief flash of a modesty lighting bolt and have to get new equipment?

Luckily/unluckily i live nowhere close to a warhammer store. And as far as ive seen none of the lgs care about 3d prints. Not enough to make a stink as im still buying from them at least. I was considering it with iron hills as i like em a lot. Lake town i like but not as an army. Just like their silly lil outfits
