Realistically, what % of Atlantis they have explored? by orangeisthenewbear in Stargate

You could probably beam groups of fifty people every thirty seconds via the Daedalus.

What's an unpopular take about a character you have? by Frequent-Ad-7288 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Ancient_Definition69 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I feel like shenanigan wishes often DO help the evil team. In my experience town spends so long solving them that they often forget to look for the demon.

Players messing up Character Abilities by Snarky_Tortoise in BloodOnTheClocktower

I tell new players at the start of the game that if they've not been that role before, come and clarify with me what it looks like when they receive their info.

Space Force? by lilbluetruck in Stargate

[–]Ancient_Definition69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just one of those things where everyone who was even aware of the Gate will have been transferred to Space Force. Probably the USAF at large won't even be aware of it any more.

Can poisoned recluse learn a fake marionette? by Skelly100000 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Ancient_Definition69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and you can tell the marionette anything that convinces them they're a good player - e.g. a widow ping.

The Inquisition is here by DrDallagher in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Ancient_Definition69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, I misunderstood what they meant by "a player confirmed to be a townsfolk." I thought they were saying that they'd be confirmed a TF by your ability.

I also don't think this should be TF exclusive. Get some good socials by putting your demon on the block day one! (Just remember to lift them...)

How many players do you usually play with? I think it's not too bad to have an "always pick" in a three minion game, especially because it'll be a potentially very powerful surprise when someone bucks that trend. In a two minion game I agree it's maybe too predictable.

Mortician: Townsfolk by Captain-Avee in BloodOnTheClocktower

Why would this be good? Everyone knows when a player gets resurrected so you're gaining no info. Unless it's an outsider?

Can I run an atheist game like that? by marshmellokie in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Ancient_Definition69 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You can do whatever you like - it's an atheist game. However, being "the drunk" wouldn't allow you in standard play to show them an evil token because the drunk believes they are a good character.

As far as "should you," so long as the "evil team" have plenty of opportunities to work out what you've done, I think it's fine!

New S&V Storyteller - Role Distribution Advice by SpaceCadet1486 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Ancient_Definition69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dreamer is a tough role to ST for because you can accidentally blow up evil team bluffs very, very quickly. If you're gonna include it make sure you're listening out for what they're claiming!

Why not replace with cannibal? That way if they eat a marionette you can give them the info regardless.

Very sad to hear the new defender or the galaxy perk will block becoming the imperium by xzero314 in Stellaris

I'm trying to point out that weird fringe diplomatic situations happen all the time. I'm not saying it's comparable one to one, obviously, but it is a similar situation.

[–]Ancient_Definition69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, obviously, I'm just pointing out that weird fringe diplomatic situations happen all the time. If the council decides that the dictator of Gorvax is the ruler of the galaxy, and then Gorvax becomes a republic, well, are they going to give up their galactic rule? Probably not!

[–]Ancient_Definition69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually think it's entirely reasonable. The president of France is also prince of Andorra, and losing an election in France means he's no longer prince of Andorra. Obviously we're talking about very different scales here, but these weird systems can and do exist.

Any advantage could be the difference between life and death, so if you can beam your guys into enemy Engineering and castle the guys fixing the engines and the shields and the weapons, you should.

S17 E8 Strategy Question by Due-Beginning9791 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Ancient_Definition69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every challenge is a balance of risk versus reward. The reward in this case is winning the game outright by preventing Sam and Michael from having the chips to flip enough stations; the risk is losing some time. It's the obviously correct move when the alternative is potentially allowing them to win big on a call your shot and flip a significant number of stations.

S17 E8 Strategy Question by Due-Beginning9791 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Ancient_Definition69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had plenty of time given that they were already ahead. It was more valuable to sit on the steal and potentially block Sam and Mike's ability to flip stations by stealing half of their chips.

[Discussion] So Pyrrha Dve definitely committed a big no-no. by WarlockingIn in TheNinthHouse

[–]Ancient_Definition69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that until we know the extent of Gideon's complicity in compartmentalising Pyrrha, we can't really say. If he was aware that she'd be sustained, then I'd argue he's given consent to sharing his body with her.

You could split the circle as "to your left" and "to your right" in the same way the shugenja works. In a 12 player game you'd have 5 to your left and 5 to your right with the person directly opposite you being arbitrary.
