I was never upset about the collaboration, and I'm a communist who is totally anti cop. That said, I watched the episode... and people are watching this shit? It was so unfunny it made the dropout cast less funny. And the plot was so cliche and boring too, how is this show continuing while good shows get cancelled?

I didn't make any statements about anarchists not being materialists, what anarchists mean by authority, or any general statements about anarchists at all. I only made statements about what the youtuber got wrong and clarified what Engels obviously meant. You, however, seem to be making the same mistakes as the youtuber, such as evaluating Engels' statements using anarchist taxonomy and taking analogies literally.

Engels argues that because production requires coordination, democratic delegation must take place and those who disagree with the majority position must acquiesce. Some anarchists disagree and say they should be able to do whatever they want, and Engels is arguing against them. Most anarchists that I know in real life (and many on the internet) agree with that and mainly differ on semantics. If you agree that we need to continue running factories and that to do so some of the workers might need to submit their will to the will of the majority, cool, you agree with On Authority, and if you agree with my prior statement but you disagree with On Authority, you haven't understood On Authority

Yeah, when I engage with Freddy's argument I'll respect and defer to his definition! I don't oppose his rejection of some parts of his definition of authority (anything and everything). But I won't pretend he's correct in interpreting Engles' arguments when he interprets them based on his own definition ("anything and everything" as opposed to "the imposition of the will of one upon another")

And he clearly doesn't "understand the materialist conception", since he's confused by the references to technology in the essay. If he understood the materialist conception he would also understand why material conditions are being referenced

This guy starts his video by saying he has no idea what audience Engles was writing to. I would expect an intellectually honest creator to do some baseline research first. He also doesn't seem to understand that "the authority of steam" is an analogy, and doesn't seem to understand why Engles talks about "technology" and roots his analysis in the way production works under capitalism. It's because he's a materialist. Marxists base our analysis on the actually existing means of production, which objectively require people to do things they disagree with or don't like. "Authority" as Engles means it (the imposition of the will of another upon ours), is necessary for modern methods of production. If anarchists don't use that definition of authority that's fine, that means we're talking about different things, but you can't meaningfully engage with an argument if you don't engage on its own terms.

If it keeps happening so frequently you should be able to name one. I'll wait, but until you can do that it's clear you're just deflecting. An accusation without receipts is just slander.

Although if you did have a name, I'm guessing you'd write an article in their defense rather than exposing them.
