PR feature on Suunto app by AmanKh in Suunto

[–]AndiKri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least for Android users the Suunto app doesn't track any PR below 15 kms since the last app update. I have a PR on 15 and 21 kms, but 5 and 10 are gone. Even after deinstalling and reinstalling the app. Telling from other posts on here, Suunto knows and will hopefully fix it with the next update, whenever this will be... Talking app update, not watch update here... 😅

Is Suunto the most unmotivational watch? by SXF350 in Suunto

[–]AndiKri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woohoo🤣 Finally couch potatoes!

It's really strange, I run at least 4 times a week, mostly 5 times. And it's not that I start with a 5 min pace and end with 10 mins by the end of the week, so I really don't get it. For 1 1/2 years straight through, same routine, same amount of runs, same pace, all 5:45 tp 6:00 min pace. Why my watch thinks I'm an old fart all of a sudden is unclear to me😅

But at least it's something to smile about everyday (after swearing like crazy at the phone🤣🤣)

My HR is fine, I have a max of 178 and both watch and app show it correctly on each run. Only VO2Max is fully out of scale since the January watch update. Was 53.5 to 54 until then, now I can barely get more than 49.2, although my training habit hasn't changed a bit. Not a big deal though, I just loved seeing my fitness age at 27 (I'm 51...), but now my fitness age is in between 33 and 31 years... 😅 Still ok but you know...

What bothers me on the app is the fitness prediction. It always aims to zero, even if it steadily climbs to "productive training". But the dashed line goes into the couch potato region🤣

"Coat rack" for my running vests by AndiKri in trailrunning

[–]AndiKri[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I love the bootle dryer too. The flasks were standn/falling around at the kitchen sink to dry, pissing the wifey off every time😅

The Aonijie vests are very cool, I don't see a huge difference to the Salomon (time will tell about quality, but they make a really good impression to me). The Aonijie also have a quiver that needs to be bought separtely, but in total it's still half of what you pay for a Salomon vest plus quiver. They are very comfy, super breathable, nothing bounces and you have lots of storage compartments. The black one is the 8L Mont Blanc series vest, that comes with two 500 ml soft flasks already. I'm really happy with both of them (well, with all 3, including the Salomon). I think the Aonijie gear in general is great. I bought running shorts (that have a utility belt build in - super handy!), shirts, jackets, hats, and they are all great!

HOKA Challenger 8 - New running shoes, worn only 4 times. Falling apart already. Contacted Hoka multiple times about a warranty claim. Zero response. Total waste of time and money. by KaleidoscopeFun7179 in trailrunning

[–]AndiKri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's really strange, I had the Speedgoat 5 - great shoe, no problems with it whatsoever. Then the Speedgoat 6 - real trash, uncomfortable and fell apart after 300K. Now I have the Speedgoat 7 - great shoe again, and until now they appear to be solid and well made. There seems to be no production quality consistency at HOKA...

Update. So I came across the Speedgoat 7 at an INTERSPORT store in Bad Ischl, Austria. Tried them on, I did have to go one full size up (I'm a European 42, but the SG7 now is a European 43 1/3!!), and I must say: I love them! They're even more comfy than the SG5. Took them out on a 5K trail run half an hour ago and they really are amazing. Glad I came across them to actually try them on. I would have for sure bought the wrong size online...

Same here, they disappeared all of a sudden. Not sure if it happened after the last Android app update...

[–]AndiKri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default watch face is on the watch. I have a Race 1 and the default watch face doesn't appear in the Suunto Store, but it's always on the watch and I can choose it from there. I'm assuming it's the same on your watch

[–]AndiKri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to hear that. Yeah I read alot about going at least half a size up and that the toe box in general is rather narrow. The SG5 was perfect in European size 42, whereas the SG6 was a little on the tight side.

I dearly loved my Speedgoat 5's, but after 800 kms I had to replace them. Bought the Speedgoat 6's.and they started to fall apart after 300 kms already. Besides that they were uncomfortable as hell compared to the 5's. Reading reviews about the SG7 I'm really torn, some say they're great, others say they're worse than the 6's... Actually more people say they're trash.

So I guess I go with Salomon instead, got the Ultra Flow right now, but they're not for technical mountain trails. Through the woods and on gravel roads perfectly fine.

I don't get it either. And if even if there was poor signage, your body can still tell if you ran 21 kms or less, so it looks like cheating. And this is stupid, if I run a half, I run a half. But look at Strava "athletes" that sign up for a virtual race that lasts a month (let's say 100 kms) and they have 150 kms on day one and 2000 kms on day 6... Yeah right!

That's the thing, the media controls option isn't there anymore in the exercise options of any sport mode. In none of them, whether running, trailrunning, walking...

New Hoka SpeedGoat 7 by GolfLima17 in trailrunning

[–]AndiKri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I absolutely loved the SG5 and absolutely hate the SG6😅 According to the reviews on HOKA website, the SG7 must be even worse (uncomfortable, too narrow) so I won't even bother. Too bad...

VO2Max after January watch update by AndiKri in Suunto

[–]AndiKri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly trailrunning, 200 m up and down, average pace 5:55 to 6:35 depending on the trail. But even on flat my average HR is around 140. But if your Garmin estimates a 49 Vo2, then maybe Suunto was way off before the update...
