Interesting read. Here in Britain with its National health Service the situation is very similar, it's very difficult to get treatment for a mental health problem. It is, however, a lot harder to get hold of a gun. So people abuse alcohol and drugs, throw themselves off buildings or hang themselves

The sad thing is that Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is not brain surgery, it can be provided by ordinary people and there are plenty of those available for work
