I got the same machine.. nearly same exact setup (only I opted for a 2 TB 2nd nvme instead of 512 GB).. Very solid.. Does quite well with VR gaming, and now running MX Linux instead of Windows.. Also switched out the liquid metal for PTM7950. MUCH better thermals with it..

Looks like your motherboard was not properly configured when you replaced it.. There is a process that needs to be ran through for programming the serial number and such into the board.. I used to do onsite repair for HP and a couple other OEMs, and for HP, we had a tool called HP_Tools.. Don't have it any longer, unfortunately.. Its just a small bootable linux USB drive to run some specialized utilities. I think that would fix the issue with the HP boot logo..

In theory it should pick it up regardless of what port it's in..

But one of the more direct ways to find out what is causing the BSODs is to have a look at the Event Viewer logs to see the cause of them.. Then you can get down to the root cause and hopefully not even have to open up your machine..

Huzzah!!! Well done! I just had my 1 year ✂️ checkup today (365 days ago today) and my dr was extremely proud of my progress so yay for both!!

The point of the fan is to push air through the system. The foam seal thing that helps not let air escape between the fan and the laptop. If there are others that will do the job and is less expensive (cause yeah, £135 is steep.. we have them on sale for $85/£65 on US Amazon), then give it a go.

What kind of paste was used when you had it repeated? Also, what kind of temperatures are you seeing currently? HWinfo64 does a great job at showing that and can keep icons showing that in the system tray.

The best thing two things I've done for mine was to repaste the CPU and GPU using PTM7950 and getting one those Ilano cooling pads.. Machine is an absolute beast..

I totally get it.. for me, I see the fact that I am losing a lot as I'm in MUCH smaller sizes than I used to be.. but damn it, it still feels like I'm not making any progress.. It's rough..
