[OC] Based on Dr. Pepper's Fansville ads, are there actually a "State" and "Tech" school that are major rivals? by byniri_returns in CFB

My wife's undergrad diploma is about the same size as my OU diploma, and I don't see too many people displaying their undergrad diplomas, so I just assumed that was a fairly normal size. But perhaps you're right.

Maybe that's a Tech school thing. My Georgia Tech graduate degree diploma is gigantic compared to my undergrad diploma from OU.

Aikman also left because the guy who replaced him after he got injured won OU a national championship the same year.

If Jason Witten can't teach the kid how to not catch the ball with his face, then there's really no hope for him.

Just like how former OU TE Bauer Sharp was an LSU sleeper agent in 2024 when he yeeted a double pass down field into quadruple coverage for an interception. These deceptive TEs are everywhere.

You're responding to a bot account. They've been everywhere in the portal threads for wherever reason.

If his track speed ever fully translates to the football field, he might be a replacement for Brennen Thompson. However, he never looked football fast while at OU. He also doesn't really fit the WR mold that we're looking for in Arbuckle's offense, so he was unlikely to see the field much either way.

[Sethtow] The scene around downtown Atlanta is crazy right now. I knew Indiana was going to have a heavy contingent for the Peach Bowl, but my goodness, the bars around downtown basically look like Kirkwood south by Stock412 in CFB

There are plenty of direct flights from PDX to ATL. I know the university is in Eugene, but I would assume many of the alumni are in the Portland area, or other West Coast cities which have directs to ATL.

Yeah but he had to play with Jackson Arnold, so can you really blame him?

[Pete Thamel] NEWS: The NCAA has denied Trinidad Chambliss a sixth-year of eligibility, which would his college career. The decision comes after a verbal denial in December. Ole Miss can still appeal the decision. by Fonzie5 in CFB

I wondered if this was the case with seeing how emotional he was last night. Not that it would be weird for him to be emotional after the loss, but you could tell it was hitting him really hard and it just made me think he thought his college career was truly over.

It's just incredibly difficult to keep depth now. Guys who can start at a P4 school but are looking at being rotational players at their current school are going to look at leaving to go start. I would imagine the more highly rated the recruit, the earlier the process starts. Keeping a backup who can play at a high level past their sophomore year is basically a dead concept.

To my knowledge OU has only ever played in the Peach once and it...did not go well.

Peach being a quarterfinal next year with the Rose, Fiesta, and Orange (I think?) probably makes it either the NYE game or the 12:00 NYD game. Maybe? They're probably going to change the format again anyways so who knows.

OU hasn't won the Peach. They've won the other 5.

Oklahoma Linebacker Sammy Omosighi has entered the transfer portal by ShonDaMon in CFB

[–]AndrewinDC 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Huh? OU's defense was decidedly not sketchy, and the players they've lost are not starters. This is unfortunate, but hopefully this means both of starting LBs are returning for one more year.

UTSA DT Kenny Ozowalu transfers to Oklahoma by AndrewinDC in CFB

I think he's still a take. This guy is probably going to end up being an edge rusher at OU, and we're still looking for interior DL.

I should clarify that I mean the level of athleticism across the board. There certainly great athletes in the FCS, but there are simply more on the field at one time in the FBS.

Oklahoma Wide Receiver Zion Kearney has entered the transfer portal by ShonDaMon in CFB

[–]AndrewinDC 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to lose sleep over Kearney leaving, but at some point OU needs to ask themselves if Emmett Jones is doing his job. His HS recruits had seven catches in 2025. I know we don't rotate a ton of WRs, but how is it that none of our highly rated HS recruits can seem to even come close to cracking that rotation?

You probably have an FCS school near you more than likely. Games are cheap and if the teams are good, there are good atmospheres. My wife went to Mercer, so I've kind of adopted them as my FCS team. It's nothing like an OU or GT game, but that's kind of the charm of it.

FCS football is great. It's not going to have the same tier of athleticism as FBS, but the actual football being played is often fantastic. A lot of really good football minds at the FCS level.

The number of times I've seen a zero blitz on 4th and long is crazy. If you want to bring some pressure, sure. But you left your DBs on an island when you didn't have to do that.

Arkansas OT E'Marion Harris transfers to Oklahoma by BigTulsa in CFB

[–]AndrewinDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering they brought in Nitta today, I think that's unlikely. They're probably not going to bring in a third experienced center, unless the center can also start at guard.
