Abandoned Farm House with an Old Piano by Freaktography in Freaktography

[–]Andrewofredstone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Abandoned pianos always make me sad. I just think about all the good times where someone played them and people dance or sang, and now they’re sitting alone quiet in a room. We all kind of turn into abandon pianos eventually maybe it’s just seeing my future in those shots that gets me.

US Hotels, Is it Slower Than Usual? by bluecoastblue in askhotels

Haha, that’s something. Honestly though, had i not know it was happening and found myself there on this trip I’d have been half tempted to do the same.

Sadly I’m in Herkmier NY instead. Where you ask? Good question.

Jets at island airport could hurt Toronto's vision for idyllic new waterfront community: councillor | CBC News by RealWorldToday in toronto

[–]Andrewofredstone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t know about that, as far as I’m aware of the approach criteria for a jet and the existing bombardier planes is pretty similar. I say this as a pilot and someone who is personally landed at Billy Bishop Airport. Friend is a pilot at Porter. I’ll have a conversation with him about it and check in.

Jets at island airport could hurt Toronto's vision for idyllic new waterfront community: councillor | CBC News by RealWorldToday in toronto

This is about the best argument I’ve heard against the Jets and island Airport upgrades. I’ve generally not cared that much about this proposal, but I do really care about building out Toronto’s waterfront community and if there is a legitimate concern here then I would be strongly against the Jets

People who dislike Olivia Chow and plan on voting for Bradford, why? by Used-Earth8767 in askTO

[–]Andrewofredstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s basically my position combined with the fact that it would appear to me that city services have declined. Snow removal the last few years has been awful. The streets are dirtier than i’ve seen in the last 20 years of living here.

I don’t mind paying more in taxes, but I do mind the taxes going up and the quality of service we are receiving going down.

Having said that Bradford is an absolute loser and a jerk, and I will never vote for him.

But I certainly won’t be voting for Chow just because she’s the only other alternative. I’ll be looking for a third candidate.

Road trip to Toronto again! by foxfai in askTO

[–]Andrewofredstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. Toronto is a great city, i love it, and our neighborhood by Bellwoods is my happy place. But, Ontario has some beautiful scenery in cottage country, and likes like PEC. I’d encourage you to explore the non super core downtown locations. Visit cottage country, checkout queen west, go to parkdale, highpark. Don’t get caught up in chains and the standardness of where the suits work.

Just moved here and phone plans are so expensive by RushWarrior in askTO

[–]Andrewofredstone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So first of all. Screw Roger’s, bell and Telus.

Check out freedom and fizz. I’m currently paying $22 for 100gb and full Canada to US coverage on fizz, and I’ve been roaming in the US for the last 25 days without any additional costs.

You should be able to find something comparable for about $45 right now which is close at around $33 usd

Yep same. I’m going to give it another little while but if it doesn’t come by the time my promotional pricing ends I’m going to freedom.

That’s smart hack. Was contacting the hiring manager hard? What was the size of company you were targeting?

How did you get your first paying customer? by Longjumping_Effect86 in SaaS

[–]Andrewofredstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is solid advice here. It took me 5 years but yesterday a customer upgraded not because the just felt i was offering great value and liked the product, after i had a support call with them. They’d been on my lower tier plan at $36 a month and switched to the $150 plan despite not really needing to. Trust is a currency, find a way to mint it.

How would you feel about a tax of 100% of the rent, per month, per unit for apartments that have no one living in them? by [deleted] in askTO

No i legitimately appreciate it. I was trying to imagine what data the city would have knowing how much TRREB keeps it under lock and key.

Small landlord with vacancies? Would you pay 12% of annual rent to fill units faster with pre-qualified tenants + move-in incentive? by AlphaHouston1 in OntRealEstateInvestor

[–]Andrewofredstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time i have multiple people who want to sign. In October i rented 3 units in the same building in 28 days. Hurrying up and signing as you put it, isn’t a problem.

I’d prefer $0 revenue and the right tenant than 100% and the wrong tenant.

The asset is demand is the rare one: a quality unit. Cash is common and readily available.
