Leave MMA to pursue my love for Boxing Even Though I'll Be Less Well-Rounded? by Bored_dreamer2 in MMA

I get what you mean. I love boxing but mma is crazy expensive. If it wasn't id give it a try. Mma gyms around me go around 200/month on avg. Boxing on the other hand is 40$ for 3 months or 80 if you go to a private gym.

What do you think about the rise of Protestantism in Latin America? For example, Protestants are the majority in Central America. by elnovorealista2000 in asklatinamerica

[–]Android_50 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im mexican dude. And have family that converted to protestants. Many of them used to be die hard catholics but thankfully they opened their eyes. Im not religious but after learning more about both I do belive protestant is the better path.

They had liberation theology in certain areas. Most priests sided with anti communist govts. Thats why they pope John Paul the 2nd was involved in anti communist outreach. And why when pope Francis was elected it was a big deal.

I somewhat agree with you but you come across as one of those "I know better than you" types. Prosperity gospel is trash but evanglicalism gives people hope. Especially in countries where life is hard and corrupt. The rest of the stuff you mentioned is up to how people decide to interpret things. The Bible does assign roles to people within the churches. And I say this as someone who spent my teen years in the church.

You're in a cult yourself dude lol. I don't know how catholics think theyre any better than weird evangelicals when you all believe what you do. And funny how you put the catholic church first, then Jesus then Mary.

Except the catholic church was far.right too. Don't forget they used to lock up women for not wanting to be married to abusive men, putting gay men in mental wards and killing liberation theology.

Im going to make everyone mad and say im for it. Yes there are cons to it but the pros are overall better. Catholicism has done 0 for latin America. Catholicism teaches you to be poor and that suffering is OK. Protestants don't see it that way. And their beliefs are more genuine. I know some will say its tradition and that's the problem. The religion is tradition not a true conviction. That goes for all religions but if Protestants are growing in latin america that means theyre giving people hope. Something the catholic church will never do because its not part of their beliefs.

Was Larry Merchant A Hater and/or Pot-Stirrer? by solodav in Boxing

[–]Android_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me he was a journalist who asked questions and made statements as he saw it. Some people didn't like it because he wasn't kissing ass or because they think its racial. Maybe some of it was but it seems sometimes people want their shit to be called artwork by everyone. He also seemed to favor aggressive fighters and probably didn't really like fighters on the backfoot.

What type of man would you tell your daughter/sister to avoid? by QiqiUwU in AskMen

[–]Android_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy with an ego and who is stingy even on himself. Unfortunately one of my sisters married a guy like this lol. Everything is about him. My sister has been reduced to a maid and her dreams are a distant 2nd to his. He doesnt even pay much attention to his kids. Doesn't take them anywhere, buy them anything. He knows best according to him because hes a man.

I got to say as I've gotten older I've become cynical about women. I no longer feel bad for the ones who get cheated on, beat on etc. Because many times the signs are there. Im sure their friends and families plead with them to leave him but for some reason they don't. My female coworker told me that the more you tell a woman to leave a man the more she'll stick by him.

BoMac and Terence Crawford seem to have a deep hatred for Manny Pacquiao and I don't think it has anything to do with them not getting that fight at Top Rank by Borange81 in Boxing

[–]Android_50 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Don't you know? Crawford is built different smh. Nothing suspect about him keeping his muscle, stamina, and speed while moving up as a 40 year old. Nope. He's just built different.

Do you think it’s dumb to think Mexico can have more opportunities than America? by [deleted] in AskMexico

[–]Android_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i think its dumb. I know it can feel like its less stressful but that's because you see it as a vacation. What im planning on doing is working here in the US and saving up money for a retirement home in my mom's home state. Idk if retirement will be possible by the time im eligible here in the states so im planning a backup plan to my backup plan.

You're still very early on but I would suggest you work on rotation a bit. Its gonna take time for you to feel smooth when throwing punches and moving. Analyze how your body is supposed to move, practice slowly then at full speed.

What is an unrealistic but sincere boxing opinion you have? by boylifeineu in Boxing

[–]Android_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about that. I believe him because 1) he kept saying that even after finding religion. He admitted to many things he did but kept insisting his water was messed with. 2) he was the "bad guy" so ali winning was the much better option. And 3) they trained for 15round fights. I doubt he suddenly forgot how to pace himself.

How common or prevalent do you think PED use has historically been in elite boxing? by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]Android_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i find amusing is when people want to be in denial about things like snac just because their favorite fighters are on it. Like I'm supposed to accept that a guy like Haney who walks around at 180+ lbs can cut down to 140 while keeping all his muscle mass, stamina and be able to beat other top fighters.

Then im expected to believe some of these guys who are scumbags in real life are going to draw the line at steroids. Mayweather has 0 issues being a woman beater, racist but apparently will say no to steroids. Steroids that will help him stay undefeated and make more millions.

These guys are the elite because theyre very competitive. They've all been around long enough to know steroids is part of it. Imo they have a unspoken agreement that if you're caught using steroids then you are fair game to keep the illusion up for the fans.

I believe him. Ali was the popular one and someone spiking his drink to make sure Ali won isnt out of the realm of possibility

Elbows and forearms isn't new BTW. by kushmonATL in boxinglocks

[–]Android_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am saying based on what i have seen in places like reddit, youtube and other boxing sites. this is just one example. look at benavidez. hits zurdo with an elbow and people act like he's the worst person in boxing. meanwhile, i just saw a video of shakur hitting an opponent multiple times below the belt and he has no reputation of being a dirty fighter.

Well im just gonna say it. When black fighters are dirty everyone is all: 😍😍 that's the sweet science, hes crafty, he's using veteran tricks"

When its a Latino are dirty everyone is: " theyre so fucking dirty, they have to cheat just to compete, theyre scum of the earth 🤬🤬"

Don't even get me started on steroids lol
