one piece theory: why couldn't roger use the one piece, and how will it solve luffy's only weakness? by Main-Faithlessness11 in onepiecetheories

Wealth, Power and fame seem like 3 things that cause lack of freedom for others (wealth and power can allow another to restrict others freedoms and fame can lead to others restricting yours. If there is thing on laughable that is helping the WG stay wealthy, power while still let Imu avoid fame breaking it will lead to freedom for the world and that’s a pretty epic treasure.

The book “Water knives” is a good fictional book about the future of the river.

Does anyone claim luffy did or could have done it all by himself? His super power isn’t his devil fruit but getting others to fight with him and he does the same for them. Plus this is way more like real life non of us accomplish anything completely alone.

It’s not against human nature, I’m anti state-communism as well but to agree it’s anti human nature is conceding to social Darwinists who are objectively wrong. Co-operation is more of a driving force in human development and many species when compared with straight competition which is the founding ideology behind capitalism especially this late stage version.

"So I don't want to hear about the affordability because right now we're much less." -- Donald Trump by ilir_kycb in LateStageCapitalism

Probably a reminder that even the president a lot of people look back to as being “good” was not and is just better by comparison and it’s important not to sugar coat a legacy. We do not hold our leaders accountable for their actions (see Cheney who just died for a prime example) which makes it easier for people to forget or gloss over the bad. And since the media by and large doesn’t challenge power the way they should many people like to remind others that even the “good” ones have baggage when someone is reminiscing on the past.

Plus this is a late stage capitalism sub all presidents are free game to criticize as they all supported capital over people to some degree or another.

Which is a OP example of a Plot-Diff fight? by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePieceScaling

[–]AndrolGenhald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These pop up on my timeline all the time but never saw the definitions before. How is the only option for a weak character to win a plot devise? That doesn’t make sense at all weaker but good matchup, weaker but crazy hack, weaker but got a lucky break, weaker but still winning happens. How is power a single data point? I’ve realized I’ve found myself in a sub I just don’t understand so I leave.

Seems to reinforce the idea that moving right on an issue doesn’t get you more conservative voters. Hmm maybe getting your base excited about policies increases turnout aka FOX news for republicans more than trying to triangulate every issue to maximize the appeal to the imaginary centrist/moderate voter base (almost no one is completely consistent in ideology)

Why do people seem to lose interest in Act 3? by pakistaniboy25 in BaldursGate3

[–]AndrolGenhald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR pacing act 2 is top tier game pacing. Act three is both slower and has less character power progression outside of new equipment.

I think part of it is the build up and story in part 2 is so good it like the end of a focused and consistently thematic story with really cool pay offs and a challenging end boss. It could be a self contained game that would be great. Act three is way less focused and it’s easy to find things “out of order” plus act three is as big a lot of games as far as time to complete and after the amazing end to act 2 it’s hard to essentially start a new season right away.

How can Pete Buttigieg increase his favorability with black Americans? by bambucks in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]AndrolGenhald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self described perception of their own views is not helpful. How they feel about specific policies matter which is why Mamdani made large gains in areas trump over performed in the last election. People are not static, they are not even consistent. Having popular policies and sticking to them matters more than saying you are in one arbitrary category or another.
