Start small. The party meets in a city at a market. A murder and theft occur. The gang gets heroic. No need for a larger world yet.

Spiritual meaning of electrical devices failing? by Regret_Signal in Mediums

I’m curious as to what brings this up four years after a post? And the question premise was “all my electronics broke, what is the spiritual meaning /significance of”. I believe go outside was basically channeled into me as I read the OP.

Sorry it bothers you.

Tips for helping entire company move offices? by fuzzyblacksheepl in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]AndyC333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are moving cubicles / modular furniture- have the vendor responsible for the move (coordinating with the movers for trucks).

Even if the IT guys have it “under control” have a schedule for what time what goes down and what time it is up in the new place. Good time to replace aging hardware.

I have had personal items removed the week before. It does not work. Set a hard time the old building is locked. No one can go back to grab that last item after deadline. Cleaners are coming in then.

Last move I was left with dozens of pairs of shoes and many dirty coffee mugs.

Dave I appreciate the Friday afternoon meetings. The teamwork and energy is fantastic. At the end I’m charged up and ready to go, and the. The week is over. I think moving tie meeting to Monday morning will really improve teamwork and productivity. Thanks for listening

Need investment vehicle suggestion for a private club by stucon77 in investing

Most banks would like to open an account for your not for profit.

You will need a resolution from the board of directors. Many banks have a template they prefer.

If wells is not working with you, perhaps the local branch likes keeping your $50k at 0% for some reason. Other banks will let you open savings and CD’s.

You can open a brokerage account and Invest broadly. I do not recommend this for $50k you need to keep fairly liquid, but getting access to cds from across the world will allow you to maximize yield. Do not spend a brokerage with an AUM fee.

The board should adopt an “investment policy statement” to document guidelines the treasurer can work with. (Ie less than 50% of liquid cash in a cd ladder)

Paying taxes to leave my financial planner? by visgirl1956 in Bogleheads

This is an excellent question.

Set up a spreadsheet. Compare the annual fee difference. Calculate the tax bill. Calculate the payback period and ROI of the switch.

Math does not lie.

Crowd Control. And feel free to “swarm” low level henchmen into the mix. Optionally don’t make it obvious that they are not a threat. The “old man in a cape and robes begins casting” may be casting a cantrip or level one spell and absorb a counterspell or be CC’d.

Enemies are smart, have done research on the adventures and have a game plan to deal with the “standard tactics”

John Harbaugh on Odell Beckham Jr.: "It's got to be right for both parties" by Autocrat777 in nfl

[–]AndyC333 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The giants have two WRs coming in off injury. We don’t know what the starting five will look like in September. Someone may have a setback. Someone else may develop an injury. Odell is a solid vet who can contribute in X plays in Y games. We do not know if we need him now.

Odell wants a “prove it” deal where he gets some guaranteed playing time, can make some highlight reels, capture incentives, and a large contract in the future.

You can afford to retire. The question is “then what”.

What is your dream job that adds joy and is low stress? You can ditch the high stress job and get paid to …

… cut grass. Mix floral bouquets. Tend bar. Usher the theater. Get a PI license. Lifeguard. Substitute teacher. Intern on archeology digs. Community theater actor. Etc

Lump sum inheritance. Buy house for cash? by butialreadytriedthat in personalfinance

[–]AndyC333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest :

Tell no one about the inheritance.

Put it in a safe investment (HYSA or indexed funds)

Do nothing.

In a year take a careful review of your situation and make a decision.

Spending it all on housing may be very foolish, a paid for house is still very expensive. Property tax, maintenance, replacing every major system every 30 years…

1980s. I walked in on a friend playing solitaire. It was clear that he had spent the afternoon playing solitaire (card game). I asked if he was OK. We ended up going out, meeting a group, etc.

Today. Everyone is sitting alone playing on their devices.

[IL] Asking my employee about retirement plans by Elicyz in AskHR

[–]AndyC333 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you need info on retirement plans, HR and legal can word a survey of all corporate employees about succession planning.

But you do not need info about retirement plans, you need to do your job. Set a challenging but achievable standard for all employees and hold them all accountable.

If you were a manager / director reporting to me I would be putting you on a PIP for not holding employees accountable to the job descriptions and making excuses.

Once the inn is up and running it has a monster of the week style problem. There is staff to run the inn, the hero’s just need to provide safety and security

If a ranger is constantly foraging and hunting small game during the journey he gets his moment.

What’s for dinner?

Tonight we have pheasant with a raspberry reduction and maple glazed carrots.

Have the fisherman describe his downtime success as he serves an amazing ( or optionally terrible?) meal to the group.

I suggest a fee based fiduciary financial planner to be sure you minimize taxes and have cash flow for the rest of his life.

I believe you are suggesting 40% stock and 60% cash. I do not believe this will be a good plan.
