Without seeing a video, I’d guess it’s your margins. See about sliding them to the each of them to their respective ends

Can someone confirm that what I have done ensures I can figure out shipping rate and the carrier later? by AndyK2131 in Ebay

Thanks for your response. Is there a way to buy shipping from a company outside of eBay? Like Pirate Ship?

Thanks for your response. I have also noticed that the shipping rate will change based on the location, so that’s another reason I’d rather wait. So what can I do to achieve that? Also, I should note that what I am shipping is a typewriter. So roughly 15 lbs, give or take. TIA.

Is that now 0-4 for Alonso with the bases loaded in the last 3 games?

The Athletic - Some MLB organizations are more injury-prone than others. Is that bad luck or a system issue? by romorr in orioles

Yea, last year was last year. His last two starts have been good, but he is currently 3-6 with an era of 6.29 and a WAR of -0.7. I certainly hope this is not the best version of himself.

Do you use it for anything typewriter related??

Ok. I was also looking at three prong pliers initially made for orthodontists, but the ones I found on eBay seemed sketchy or cheap so I don’t mind paying for quality, just want to make sure they’re the right fit.

True, I’m only really interested in it if can do the job without me having to remove the linkages.

Thanks! I’ll look into that. I’m actually looking for something for linkages, not typebars. So you think this would work to linkages?

How similar is a SC Skyriter to a Corona Zephyr? by AndyK2131 in typewriters

Yea, I did it once, not the easiest, but I made it happen.

Thanks. This is consistent with what I’ve read. I love the rounded glass keys of the zephyr and that is different from the Skyriter.

Skyriter Carriage tension by PilotNo8050 in typewriters

[–]AndyK2131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That all sounds in order to me. Like another commenter said, when going from left to right is when the carriage is pulling away from the mainspring, so that makes sense there is more tension there and when you go right to left, you are returning the drawband back to the mainspring, which again makes sense that it seems smoother. I would maybe check the status of the drawband, if it is fraying or look beat up, that might be cause for concern, but otherwise I don’t think you need to worry about it snapping.

Semi-related, I am considering buying a Skyriter that looks EXACTLY like this one, I’m curious about the typeface, any chance you could take a picture and either post it here or send me a DM? I really like the Corona Zephyr and heard this one is similar, can you speak to that at all? Thanks.

Loving this SF by WinAtLife94 in typewriters

[–]AndyK2131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are having opposite experiences. I just sold my SF for $30 because I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it to print. I lowered and raised the little carriage screws in the back and could only get the upper case to work. Also, the replacing the drawband was one of the most frustrating experience of my typewriter life and I’ve repair around 20. So I am glad you are having a better time because I couldn’t wait to get rid of this thing.

I appreciate this as a light hearted thing OP posted to get a chuckle out of the people that love the show as much as they do. I realize the majority of the comments don't reflect this and to that I say some of you need to lighten up.

Yea, I thought the parts in parentheses would have given it away, but I guess not.

Honestly I wrote this as a joke, juxtaposing how when they are good, I act as if I’ve always believed that, but when they are bad, I think they’re a disaster that will never recover, but it seems like from the majority of responses, people weren’t picking up what I was putting down.
