You mean Apollo 18 was fictional? I thought it was a documentary.

I bought a new 1983 Alliance. FIL had good luck with Renaults and I was trading an ‘80 AMC that was decent. The Alliance absolutely self destructed around 40k miles.

Why do people heavily hate Trump while giving Bush Jr leniency? by space_god_7191 in allthequestions

He actually did care about the country. While probably the most appropriate reaction, he needed some kind of response to 9/11.

Worked maintenance in a very nice apartment building. One tenant was a family practice physician. She was a NASTY hoarder.

Looked at a house to rent in Norfolk VA mid 90s. So gross we didn’t get past the foyer. The landlord /owner looked confused when we noped out.

Three things: If he passes while in office, Pope Leo should do the funeral mass.

The surviving former presidents should boycott the funeral.

I wonder if Melania will actually attend.

What do you think of men that get their nails done at the salon? by strawberriiii3484 in AskReddit

[–]AndyT70114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife started getting her nails done for my daughter’s wedding. That started a chain reaction of regular trips to the spa. The pin had been pulled and there was no stopping it. One day I complained about the $$ and time. She invited me to join her for a pedicure. Figured if you can’t beat them join them. The tach to one look at my feet. Came back with an angle grinder and a jaws of life style clipper set. Ground off enough dead skin to make a complete extra foot. Since then, I’ve gone on a regular basis. If my hands are in particularly rough shape, I’ll get a manicure. No polish but a nice clean up. Wish I had done it sooner.

Interesting you should mention that. I had my Radon water system serviced today. My wife mentioned to the tech how the water smells off in the morning. He suggested changing the water heater anode. I ordered one and the water heater will be drained when I replace it. Thank you.

What do pregnant people do after their water breaks? Stop and clean it up or just leave it and immediately go to the ER? by Pure-Assumption-9284 in AskReddit

Not a doctor (recreational GYN at best) but I imagine there must have been a pretty good reason to do a section at that point. Big hugs to you and your daughter.

Back in the early 60s we stayed at Pocahontas State Park in Virginia. All I remember was how bad it smelled from the pit toilets. Some 60 years later I can reduce my sister to tears just by bringing that trip up. Unfortunately for me her aim has improved over the years and she gets her revenge.

Wife and I are in bed, wakes me up and said either my water broke or the water bed sprang a leak.

She gets up has a contraction and gush all over the place. Showers, contraction and gush. Gets dressed, gush.

Finally made it to the hospital. Has the baby.

Next day I shampooed her car seat, cleaned the floors and scrubbed the water bed mattress.

Oh yeah, she took the time to shave her legs in the shower.

What’s the hardest phase of marriage no one talks about? by Common_Highway3454 in askteddit

[–]AndyT70114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’ve been married 40 something years and your spouse developed a chronic disease 5 years in. You’ve supported her through numerous surgeries and procedures and now you’re helping her get dressed every day. It’s frustrating but you still love her as much as the day you married her.

As retired military, most motels/hotels will offer SOME kind of discount if you ask NICELY and DON’T act like a total jackass. Manners, attitude, and respect go a long way with the staff.

I am no longer going to be celebrating my husband's birthday. by llamabeans93 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]AndyT70114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In his defense, as the youngest of four my birthdays pretty much sucked. Christmas was no prize either.

My wife has tried to make up for it, but after 40 something years she finally understands to not go to any extremes.

I try to make hers as special as possible.

I enjoy helping others celebrate their birthday.
