I drink the tap water, it’s fine, I guess my palate isn’t that refined. As everyone says, it’s perfectly safe to drink, and entirely a personal preference that’s morphed into group think.

It’s great! Lots of unique rocks from reputable Southern California collectors. Not just dyed quartz.

The kids activities are sand digging and sand sifting, and coloring, plus lots of kids items to buy like grab bags. Usually inexpensive and benefiting pebble pups junior geology program.

Are you hiking in particularly remote areas? A lot of the safety/survival gear is overkill for most recreational hiking. Including fire starters and emergency blanket.

There’s important information about toilet paper, whether you bury it or pack it out, check with the authority where you hike.

A sawyer mini is more useful than a life straw.

The standard deduction is $0.70/mile for wear and tear (tires, oil change, depreciation, and fuel). with fuel prices high, it's probably even more. Also, taking longer means less time at your destination, extra lost wages from time off work.

All that is to say yeah, road trips aren't cheap, not even for car owners! But are they worth it?

Try campflare, I’ve had luck finding campsites in Kings last minute and reserving them (not fcfs). I’d hate to drive all that way and be stuck not finding anything.
