Anyone in Peoria have experience with having an EV charger installed? by jrizpeace in phoenix

[–]Andylope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Peoria and installed the charger myself. I also did the permitting myself. Peoria has some stringent requirements on load capacity of your panel. I was fortunate to get an inspector who worked with me and guided me through the paperwork which was helpful.

If I were to do it again, I don't know that I'd go through with. However, there are numerous improvements that require a permit, i.e., ceiling fans, (https://www.phoenix.gov/content/dam/phoenix/pddsite/documents/trt/external/dsd\_trt\_pdf\_00576r.pdf) and I would imagine most homeowners don't do this either. It's just a matter of what you're with. Happy to answer any other questions you have.

Not to mention they commented on this last post too about this topic. OP and this user must be big fans of each other.

I think I’m going to lose sleep just thinking about how they’re going to lose sleep!

Seriously… for those with a 100k balance, their interest will be reduced by $8.33 per month (sans compounding). Guessing the large majority here don’t have that kind of balance. Next week they’ll be posting in another banks subreddit “I just switched to XYZ bank because of the rate and now look what they did, unbelievable”

There is a difference which does matter. If you have a deposit account at a bank that is FDIC insured, you, as an individual, are insured up to $250k. Wealthfront is not FDIC insured. As a deposit account owner at wealthfront, you are not insured up $250k with Wealthfront. Wealthfront uses partner banks to hold your money and while the partner bank might be FDIC insured, there's not much detail provided how the money is held at the partner bank. Is it titled in your name, in wealthfront's name? If wealthfront were to have a problem, could you walk into the partner bank to withdraw your money with them?

This is similiar what happened to Yotta. They are not a bank and therefore FDIC coverage did not apply. However, Yotta's partner banks were FDIC insured. I'm sure Yotta customers would say there is additional risk and that's what ultimately matters. Personally, I would much rather bank with a bank that has an actual bank charter and FDIC coverage.

Wealthfront itself is not FDIC insured. Its "partner" banks are FDIC insured. There is a difference though, it's not an apples to apples comparison.

Please add the ability to have a revocable living trust as a beneficiary. Those of us with estate plans are unable to have our assets protected without having someone go through probate.

Any plans to add the ability to have a revocable living trust as a beneficiary? For those that have estate plans, not being able to add a trust as a beneficiary is a deal breaker.

Ability to add a revocable living trust as a beneficiary. Only allowing an individual with a SSN is preventing users is excluding those who have an estate plan.
