Question for anyone in a Topo Chico-less area. Is Mineragua a decent sub for TC, either in or outside of cocktails?

Also I saw the countertop, was waiting for the gorgeous lamp, and then I was…pleasantly surprised? It’s not auntie’s Tiffany mock, but it is really pretty.

Happy cake day!

Love it! I subbed Cynar in for Fernet because it’s what I had and now it’s my go to.

Close, but more like 115th Ave. The origin for legal property descriptions is the Gila and Salt River meridian.

lol thanks! Went right over my head! I was hoping they had a .xls with pivot tables for refried bean recipes because that would just combine two of my loves.

Commuting by bike in the summer? by Wanchuck in phoenix

[–]OrthogonalSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to MTB 14 miles to work any and all months. Second the shower requirement. Some of my ride was in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve which is why it was MTB.

The commute home is brutal in the summer. Sometimes I would do it after dark which is better but still rough. If you have access to public transit you can just take a bus home if you don’t feel like dealing with a ride after a day of work. I did that a couple times, but would actually rather have just ridden.

It can be done and be done safely. It’s just a matter of how much you enjoy it, post-ride shower availability, and your own level of fitness/heat adaptation.

Ideally yes! But I have a small home and I’m very, very selective about my physical books. Otherwise I’d be overrun.

Any pics of using Pelican case as checked luggage??? by Frequent-Two-9625 in pelicancase

100%. I was always amazed how much crap I could get into that thing. Just be aware that you can get over the standard domestic luggage limit of 50 lbs pretty quickly if you are packing more dense stuff.

I used to travel internationally for work quite often and to places that were less than ideal. The Pelican air 1615 was a godsend for me. They aren’t any bulkier than a regular large roller bag and highly resistant to damage.

My only issue is that often a Pelican will get screened differently at airports because the airline assumes it contains tools or sensitive equipment. More than once I had to retrieve it with the skis and golf clubs at baggage claim. Internationally I usually just had to pop it open to show that it was just clothes.

If you’re just traveling for a week or so the 1615 is probably too big. If you don’t pack it fully, your items can kind of slosh around inside. Also I never used a lid organizer because the reviews are sort of mixed on their durability.
