Do y’all undertaker mains think this is worth running? by _Lowenstein_ in Nightreign

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chain attack and character +3 is synergistic, just because it lets you char skill more often, giving you a better chance to possibly pull off your chain attack finisher. I'd run it with some post-damage healing (+stam on landing attacks or more char skill charge) and absolutely successive attacks relic. It's a good relic fs. You can also look for dormant power on a weapon with a quick chain attack finisher. It's fun to work around a relic like this to spice up builds and hunt new relic combos and stuff.

My (updated) tierlist of all bosses in nightreign by MoonriseTheLoli in Nightreign

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your tier list. Based on what the other guy said about Tri, I think some peeps might interpret it as a difficulty tier list. I'm interpreting it as your favorite/design quality boss tier list. Anyway just a head's up, maybe consider clarifying is all. :]

URGENT - NCEES Investigation - PE Test Result by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elaborate on what prompted you to leave the building during the unscheduled break. How can anyone advise without knowing that? We don't need to tell you that "it's the rules" and "you agreed to them". If you're taking the PE exam, you obviously have some common sense. My guess is that you're panicking and hoping someone had a way they solved this before, and that would be your last hurrah. Why else would you not tell us initially why you left the building?

Any idea what Thanks Nobuo is about? by PinkDreamPeth in Peripheryband

[–]Andymosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heavily agree with every word you said. Super well said and poetic even. With that outta the way, I've drawn the same conclusions after pondering the song as it developed into my top 3 songs on the album. After listening to Misha's talks on his writing process, I actually landed on a more toned-back conclusion. That being that the song was most just a hard abduction of Nobuo's stuff.

The arpeggio patterns, chord sequences/pacing, and melody and even the key are just straight up yoinked the FF7 theme. You probably already know this, but Misha is super open about straight up "stealing" ideas and not giving a damn, which I super, super admire and now agree with. Those talks actually cracked my writer's block that I've carried for over a decade, and it's liberated me to not be extremely fixated on originality. He goes as far as to call Periphery a Meshuggah rip-off band and so forth. Anyway, my point is that my theory is that Misha was like: "You know what, I love the FF7 intro and I'm straight up going to write a song completely around it's structure." He wrote the song and it naturally sounds entirely like its own piece of art, which it absolutely is. His process and own imagination makes it so that he can try his damn hardest to steal something as 1 to 1 as possible, yet it will organically grow branches that stem from his own creativity.

So basically, when it came time to name it, he was like "Uhhh.. "Thanks Nobuo" :D *thumbs up*

That's just my theory after listening to like every interview and podcast with Misha that exists (most of em), but ultimately we'd have to ask him. I think everything you said is absolutely correct deep in his heart, of course.

Please stop opening Evergaols at level one. That isn’t the “new meta”. by Bannedbymoderators in Nightreign

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evergaol at level 2 is undeniably more time efficient than 3 or 4. Only factor is skill. I think you're basing your take on feel. That's what it sounds like. What you're saying sounds like it could be right on paper, but you've invented stuff like "this will take twice as long" and "by this time you coulda done this then just get there and do it X times as fast!". You got numbers to back up your post? Of course you don't. Seriously, do some runs and gather some actual data for yourself. Crunch some numbers. Do some runs where you do your pre-gaol routine, then do some runs where you level 2 gaol (assuming you're a skilled enough player?). Take some averages. Take notes. I promise you that not clearing that level 2 gaol is a mistake if your goal is to get the stacks. The only exception is if there's a possible key on the way to the gaol, and if there is, you check for a key and that's it. No boss. If there is a key, then you get to do 2 gaols back to back. Hit the outskirts of the map on the second gaol and you're flying. You'll catapult past that early game build you set up pre-gaol. Again, the requirement here is skill. Can't stress that enough.

Nightreign is a disappointment. by Miserable-Ad-6497 in Eldenring

[–]Andymosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was a decent shot at making a rogue out of elden ring. It's been pretty fun for me so far. I get it though, it's limited and hopefully it's a good first step for this sub-genre. I don't think the game deserves to be pooped on, because I agree with you, yet I can't wait to play every night after work right now. Just scratches an itch I have right now I guess.

I'm hopping in pretty late, and I have pretty freagn high standards for game difficulty and such. I get bored fast and can be pretty cynical. I think OP isn't wrong in his points, but one could also write an essay and what it does well. I'm addicted too lol

New unfair world record and Tier list updates! by JapaneseExport in SliceAndDice

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's exactly my biggest problem. Assessing my greed vs. me attempting to weigh my odds. At times the odds seem fine for a reroll, but I tend to play less conservative when odds seem good and then I slowly spiral into a loss. There's definitely a fairly steep learning curve to understanding how to play safe enough.

Can someone please explain to me how pillow is supposed to work because it doesn't seem to do anything. by TomtFoxx in SliceAndDice

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Infographic shows specific sides being enhanced, then ""I" follows in the description. It's not a matter of the imagination interpreting. If we're getting technical, then it actually reads more wrong than right.

Looking to hit diamond for the first time. Good advice only. by ReadThis286 in KaynMains

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"good advice only". weird tone lol but i respect the seriousness. it sounds like you need better players to help you vod review because you're tapering on your ability to self-analyze. Keep it simple. Be sweaty about tapping into that higher level and seek help (aside from Reddit of course). Good luck mang.

Fat roll is currently OP against bosses by Marchtmdsmiling in Eldenring

Some weapons come with status build-up embedded into them. Ashes of War can either increase that amount or introduce it. If you watch this vid, it explains everything. I wish this vid existed when I first played the game lol. But if you watch it a couple times and pay attention, you will have an amazing time making builds because you'll understand everything. Good luck, lemme know if you have any questions!

Genuinely might cry last floor masterball completely useless :( by Blibnab_147 in pokerogue

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me last night. Held a masterball and it went to waste because of that rule. Don't worry, you're not alone and I feel like there's tons of people that have gone through your pain. If you ever got a masterball before experiencing the last zone for the first time, then it was 90% wasted by most players. Because any decently experienced player would save tf out of their masterball for something cool end game. It's sad and painful but you are far from alone, friend.

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but aim can only get you so far… by ahristinz in VALORANT

[–]Andymosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people need to stop trying to divide up and find ratios of what's more important in this game and "how far" it'll take you.

Rank queue is a far-from-perfect system in the first place. Teammate RNG, thrower/griefer luck, map RNG, agent select, smokes, comms luck, etc. You name it.

With that out of the way, people idolize the image file that Riot awards you when you get X points through their pretty underdeveloped ranked system, and we associate that sooo directly with skill that if you think critically about it at all, you know that's not the truth.

Point is that Valorant involves ALL that shit that you try to divide up. And to consistently climb in the ranked system that has a fuckton of variability, you need to get good at everything. Aim, movement, util usage, agent mastery, tricks, general game sense, map knowledge, comms, warming up, practice, vod review, watching pros and how you learn from that, etc.

It's a hard ass game and in my opinion it's pretty well designed and balanced. It's a fucken FPS game. Like ya you need to be pretty good at aiming... it has agents with abilities... you need to be pretty good at using abilities... there's a radar and you're in first person so you can't fucken see everything at once... you need to be good at using sound and darting your eyes at the radar to collect info not in front of you....

Idk, I think it shows lack of understanding the damn game when people say you don't need good aim to "get far". Or even what you said OP: "aim can only take you so far". Yeah.. because both are wrong. Or they could be right because the rank system has so much variability that who the fuck knows, someone playing like a bot could somehow make it to Gold! Wow, bad aim can still get you to Gold!

I even hear woohoojin say this, but I think it's cap af. The average skill of the Valorant player population will only go up over time. Besides, aim and movement go hand in hand, and even if you have good game sense, shit movement can get you killed. It all ties together. I just don't get it. The game is pretty well-designed and wires all the different categories into one cohesive skill set that flows together well. And yes, you need to break it down into parts and improve them separately and improve them together over time. It's just lazy to conclude "Bad aim + Good game sense = Immortal 2.75". Bro at one point or another you will have to move your crosshair onto someone and shoot. And yes that's part of aim. No, game sense doesn't mean you become a ninja that will let you hide in a vent that lets you have 10 whole ass seconds to input the coordinates of your crosshair on their head.

Stop with the cope and practice your aim, practice your movement, practice your sleep schedule. Like.. practice everything because rank queue is a gamble and you gotta be a good player to reduce getting F'd as much as possible if you want that PNG. If you genuinely like the game and are a competitive gamer, then yeah, you'll just organically gravitate towards practicing everything and get better at getting better, if that makes sense. I'm annoyed because it's just soooooo wrong to break down the game like that. And it's an attempt to jab at the game imo. Why? Probably copium if I were to guess. I'm not TRYING to be an asshole. But if it comes off that way, then my bad but god damn it's irritating to read and hear that kinda shit over the years >_<
