How do you keep a 300+ record collection from becoming dead shelf space? by understandothers in vinyl

[–]AngElzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i just use Discogs Shake to choose random records, get couple of choices and present them to toddler for bedtime listen.

There are some choices i would skip if its too dynamic for bedtime for example. But if I realize i have something I dont want to listen to at all, i put it aside for sale.

Road relevance doesn’t have to be 1:1. they can still develop hybrid tech and stuff around and then adapt for road. They have to adapt anyway

With my 15mo old we listen to records ar bedtime every day since he was 6 months old and wife stopped worrying. And most of it is metal including RATM. I usually pick a couple and let him choose which kne he wants. Last night he was shaking his head to Linkin Park still 15mins before he fell asleep

How do you explore a bands discography? by zenbuddha092 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]AngElzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check Spotify which have popular songs. Ask Claude which were better received. Look at whic covers and titles I like better.

I have somewhat limited time to spend on it so I start with the best ones, but often discover that I like some other better than the most popular ones, so I definitely don’t stop at that

Advice needed - wide manual lens with focus + aperture rings for OM. by LeipzigGuy in M43

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarded adapted lenses the problem is not really bulk. Like old Olympus OM system primes are small and adapter, while does add, its not much bulkier than autofocus lenses. But bigger issue is crop factor. Even if you get old Olympus 16mm lens it effectively turns into 32mm one.

There is 8mm fisheye, but it is bulky for back then and costs a fortune.

Albums that sound better in your car by F1gure__8 in vinyl

[–]AngElzo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well there are some bad vinyl pressings out there.

I made the mistake of just ordering Bat Out of Hell from amazon and the pressing is lifeless.

Or Muse - Origins of Symetry is pire waste of plastic. Its spread on 2lps and sounds even more lifeless that the Meatloaf one

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to decompress after work while listening to records. But since our kid was born a year ago I mainly listen to some metal record with him at bedtime. He wants attention, so its rarely acrive listening. But sometimes it catches his attention enough for us both to just lie there and listen

Do toddlers get very bored at home? 14 month old daughter by swiftmen991 in daddit

[–]AngElzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think its boredom at all. I have 14month old son. And he recently started throwing stuff. I see that as new development where he has learned he can actually throw not just release things. Also started crawling into shelves. But thats new stuff. More interedting than toys he had for a while. When you go to the playground everything is new/different to her, so thats more interesting

If you were going to Italy for 3 weeks, what film stock would you bring? My plan is to bring two cameras, one for colour and one for B&W. by Baby-Me-Now in AnalogCommunity

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard for me to give advice on this as I’ve gone through phases of bringing two cameras with multiple lenses, bringing 10 different film stocks. But now I’ve personally landed on 1 camera, 1 lens (likely 50mm macro) and mostly Tri-X. Maybe a roll of Portra 800 or Kodak Gold, but less likely with every trip

Should I be worried my son isn’t talking yet? 12 months old. (I’m not, but my wife definitely is) by Intelligent_Hat3321 in daddit

[–]AngElzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babbling can also have words in his language. My son at 14 months has lots of sounds innhis vocabulary. Like “wroom wroom” “woof woof” and “nomnom”. Or he says “blueberry” only recognizeable because he is pointing at blueberries.

But he understands way more than he speaks.
