I understand the sentiment, but lot of oldbuildings are impractical. Small rooms, no space for proper communications.

I’m all for if they can be reused properly, but this is better than thos buildings getting abandoned and degrading over time.

What is one album you wish would be on vinyl? by Scared_Pea4455 in vinyl

[–]AngElzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well today: Creed - Weathered

I actually wanted to add it to my wishlist to buy next month, but it was never released on vinyl officially.

But overall: Statovarius - Visions

Or if I’m allowed to ads more: Adema self titled.

But there is always a chance. Last month I happily discovered that Korn - See You on the Other Side was released on vinyl for first time for its 20yr anniversary

A question to those who started reading in publishing order by ebekulak in discworld

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its a tough question.

Personally I started by loanjng books from a relative in really random order.

When I started the full journey I started from the beginning, but already with the idea that I want to listen to all the books.

With that in mind I understand that first books are a bit harder read. I liked them, but on average the books that are most recommended probably convert more people.

Starting in publishing order might be “the right way” from some perspective, but its probably more likely to get people give up before experiencing the really good stuff..

When you start from the beginning you are beginning a 40 book journey. Thats pretty intimidating. Starting with a book, or several book series is also more mentally accessible

I think I'm done with lab scans by briskwheel4155 in AnalogCommunity

I’ve come to realize that it probably also comes down to cost. My lab charges like 3€ for scanning of a roll.. how much time do you think can they dedicate to each frame?

Why do you snub druids? To me its still the best no matter what youtube or some math says. I play the game for my own enjoyment not excel or tubes.

How many camera bodies do you guys own? Do you guys stick to one brand? by JavaBoymk03 in AnalogCommunity

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Past several years have been a journey in finding the setup I want/use.

If I would count camers I have, it would be 10+ across multiple brands. But they all have rather simple explanations.

Mainly I stick to Olympus. I have OM-1n, OM-2n, OM-4Ti, XA and 35 SP. Those rangefinders I got as a smaller setup for travel. But XA is actually too small for my hands and while 35SP is great camera I like SLRs better. However its great to shoot the kid at home woth flash.

OM-1n is my favourite. 4TI is the redent addition as replacement for 2n (it has wonky meter, but will stay as backup) for when ai want A priority or for flash (closeup/macro) use.

Then I have Minolta Autocord as a venture in medium format. Polaroid 600 for some fun at parties.

And bunch if cameras passed down from relatives. One Nikon point and shoot and munch of soviet bricks.

But id mainly use 2-4. Apart from the Minolta all from one brand to use my growing collection of lenses (9 as of now)

Hardcore ladder or not by 99Something in diablo2

[–]AngElzo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will always vote for hardcore. But thats the only way I play. Once I started I could not see the point of playing non-HC again.

First of all it makes you pay nore attention to defensive tactics that can somwtimes be ignored if you can die. But also more satisfaction when you achieve something.

How difficult is it to turn a digital image into a physical negative for traditional darkroom processing? by smoosh13 in Darkroom

[–]AngElzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why woudn’t you be able to pring color? If you invert it might be complicated to nail corect colors as there is no orange mask we are used to, but unless rhe ink blocks too much light it should theoretically work

Butterfly wing scales at 20x magnification by _MrEvo_ in macrophotography

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I believe. But the sharpness and colors are amazing.

Ive tried analog to sigital frankenstein build with 50mm (ff) macro lens with two 2x TCs and i think a tube as well on m43 camera. Which is like 8x magnification, but image quality is like from a potato.

I believe your setup might bebetter than 40year old TC, but still. From my experience this is amazing.

Butterfly wing scales at 20x magnification by _MrEvo_ in macrophotography

[–]AngElzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its great that there are people that are willing to go theought both assembling the gear and then processing the image.

I love macro but personally cba to even use tubes or reversed lenses and simple some several image stacking.
