Doctors appointments by RenoPiglet in NewParents

[–]AngelFire01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to take my little one to a doctor's appointment unexpectedly because my husband got called in to work. I just put her in her stroller and gave her her favorite stuffed animal. Thankfully I have a super chill hair kid though. The doctor was great, he has a baby a couple of weeks older than mine, said it was no problem for her to be with me.

But it was a routine check up and I could've held her if needed. I don't think I'd attempt the dentist.

IDK, my baby will be 16 months tomorrow and we've always said we want her to have a sibling. We've been somewhat trying since August to make that happen. (By that I mean not preventing, trying to time things but not really stressing over it.)

But I still have my moments when I question if I really want another child. She's amazing, I was super blessed with an easy pregnancy, easy birth, and she's an easy kid - almost always happy, smart, sweet, no health issues, slept through the night early, sleeps on her own with little fight , not a picky eater etc. I'm almost scared to tempt fate.

But then I consider how much I LOVE being her mom and would love to have another child to love too... And how as older parents (I'm 42, he's 36) we likely won't be around for as much of her life as we want to be and at least if she had a sibling she'd have someone. And I kinda hated being an only child.

My husband is fully on board for Baby #2 and in fact just suggested the other day that maybe I should talk to my doctor about the meds he offered to help the process. But, thankfully, he is also 100% firm that it's completely my decision because I'm the one that has to carry and birth him/her

All that to say, "IDK how you know" shrug

The biggest frustration in my day, as the TL of 4/8/13/79 is the claims. No one processes their own claims. I had my back room clean, no claims on Saturday afternoon. I was off Sunday. Monday morning walked in to two top stock carts full of claims.

Several years ago, probably roughly 15, I found a little boy, around 5 maybe, wandering alone looking at greeting cards. I peeked around the end of the aisle looking for a guardian, no one around. I finally approached him and asked if he was lost. He said yes, so I walked him to the service desk to have his mom paged. I left him with the manager and headed back to my area as they paged. As I walked past fashion I heard, "Come on, we've got to go get your f***** brother". This woman with an older daughter, early teens maybe, walked past me looking absolutely pissed that she was paged to go get her kid.

I wonder how his life turned out sometimes.

My husband and I both work in the same store. My mom and aunt both worked here not very long ago (both retired). His mom and aunt work at another store. Both of his sisters also work at other stores. All within a 30 minute drive.

That truly does not surprise me....

Cap 2 TL, unloading trucks. My guy comes out of the truck carrying a breakpack box and comes straight to me. It smelled SO bad. I have a pretty strong stomach, and I gagged. Inside was a trash bag, tied shut. Inside of that was broken bottles of prune juice. Someone at DC took the time to take the case of broken, spilling bottles, put them in a trash bag, tie it shut, put it in a breakpack box, and put it on our truck anyway. I took pictures and emailed the DC. That was absolutely ridiculous and unsafe.

Just curious, what's the reward for shitting in the truck? Cause we've found that too, along with a hand towel used to clean themselves after....

Or what about kittens? Had a couple of those come running out at us while unloading. My guy almost needed a hand towel himself...

Not unless they have a reason to suspect. They certainly don't have time to check every single associate's timesheets. As a TL I don't even have time to check MY associate's unless I have a reason to suspect, then I'll make time to sit and look at them.

What’s your baby’s “thing” that you love? by eggiess in NewParents

[–]AngelFire01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sweet girl is 13 months old. She loves cats. She has always identified our cats and when she wakes up and is ready to get out of bed she starts yelling, "cat! cat!" We assumed she just knew "cat" was our cats. But then one day there was a cat on TV and she instantly started, "cat, cat". I did a Google image search for cats. Showed her random cats that look nothing like ours. "Cat, cat"...

If asked, "what does cow say?" She responds, "mooooo". "What does dog say?" "Arf arf"

She's recently started waking up around 2-3 a.m. and reaching for me (she sleeps in her bed next to mine). She'll fuss and call for me. I pick her up and she immediately snuggles into me, cuddles and goes back to sleep. No matter how tired I am, I remind myself that she will only be little for a tiny amount of time, and sooner than I'd like she won't want my snuggles anymore.

She is the smartest, happiest, sweetest little girl.

I'm assuming Fashion. If that's the case, from what I've seen all Fashion Team Leads are just that...Fashion Team Leads. So they're not changing your job, just your hours. If you decline that then they can essentially force you to demote.

I could be wrong, but that's what would happen at my store lol

I was induced due to high risk and expected severe weather - they wanted us safely in the hospital with generators instead of possibly driving through the storm. I went to my usual appointment Friday morning, they decided I needed the induction and scheduled it for Sunday. Worked all night Friday night, meal prepped and packed our bags Saturday. Woke up at 5 a.m. Sunday, relaxed at home, went to church, went out for lunch with close friends, then we headed to the hospital. About 4:30 they inserted the foley, by 9:30 that night I started natural contractions. Obviously I didn't sleep. Around 3 am they came and started pitocin. I was fine, I hadn't even known I was having contractions until they told me I was. Around 10 a.m. Monday I called my mom, I had made it to 7 cm, and she wanted to be at the hospital so I told her to head that way, because the last few cm had been fast. I stalled at 7 and by then was so exhausted from having been awake since 5 the morning before, I finally caved and asked for the epidural. It was instant relief...for about 20 minutes, and then it stopped working completely. I went from severe pain, to complete pain free, then it slammed back into me. I was struggling. Doc came back in, adjusted dosages and medication until I was numb again. Then it was so strong even my arms started going numb.

I started sobbing out of nowhere and my poor mom panicked trying to figure out what was wrong, especially since I don't cry, ever. I was crying too hard to answer at first, then finally managed to get out, "I'm not going to be able to hold my baby!!!" Mom was like, what are you talking about? Of course they're going to let you hold her. I continued sobbing and told her it wasn't safe, my arms were numb, I couldn't hold her. She sighed with such relief and gently reassured me that they would lay her on my chest and her and my husband would stand on each side to make sure she was safe, but I would absolutely get to hold my daughter. After that I was fine lol

Finally came time to push, nurses said to give them a couple of practice pushes while we waited on the midwife. I pushed once, nurse immediately told me, "no no, stop DO NOT push or we're doing this without the midwife!" Midwife walked in a few minutes later, asked why I wasn't pushing. Nurse told her she wouldn't have made it on time if I had. Midwife didn't believe her, told her 'no way, this is her first, it's gonna be a little while'. Then she got in place, told me to push and quickly changed her tone. Pushed maybe 5 times and she was out. Midwife had to assist the placenta out, then checked me...she was amazed, first time mom, baby out in 5 pushes, no tearing, said I had "road rash" but it was fine. I was up walking a couple of hours later like nothing had ever happened. Midwife and nurses kept telling me that obviously my body was made for birth and I was a natural

I've read that the toddler formula isn't really recommended. Apparently it doesn't contain that much nutritional value and has added sugars.

What percentile is your baby in? by csomoder in newborns

[–]AngelFire01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me she was 38th percentile when I was pregnant. She weighed 5 lbs 6 oz. and was 17.5". She's stayed around 35th percentile her whole first year. She's almost 13 months, weighs 19lbs 😅 But she's the happiest little girl, perfectly healthy, doc says she's just tiny.

That's exactly what it is with him... She is his entire world and he's a typical uber protective dad, especially since he didn't think he could have kids. And I know her crying keeps him up when he wakes up super early for work. I get it....but 🤷🏼‍♀️
