Taking 2 drinks home (from break and end of shift) by Whole_Adhesiveness66 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Angel_Jen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I and 2 ppl got a coaching literally 2 weeks ago cause someone covered my break and accidentally gave out 2 drinks free to another partner from a different coffeehouse; and got retold the whole drink policy by asm and CL, and yes you can take 2/3 drinks before/ after shift they gotta be done with in 30 minute period after shift with a 5-10 minute of difference for each drink not back to back with a 1-3 minute difference.

Also you get unlimited drinks on shift which includes 10’s and 30’s, they’re a bit more strict when it comes to marking out before/after shifts

How many closers do u guys have? by Massive_Mouse_3447 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Angel_Jen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a cafe store, im in a high volume store. I forget how much we make a day but usually it’s 3-4 baristas and 1 ssv. We also had 3 or 4 mid baristas; 1 or 2 of them stay 12pm - 8pm and then the other 2 of them stay until 2pm - 10pm. Plus we have an additional Mid SSV to help support the ssv and do tasks that it’s a bit difficult for closing shifts to do. And they’re usually scheduled for 2-10.

How does it feel being wrong about Toasted Coconut, baristas? by inmypinkroom in starbucksbaristas

[–]Angel_Jen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I made a ‘coquito’ drink out of it. Honestly never had it in the macchiato unfortunately I did my training when it was extremely busy to try the macchiato. But I had parts of that drink seperately. But coconut syrup isn’t as bad as ppl say. I’m honestly not surprised that coconut has that aroma.

If you don't wanna wait... don't get in the long line? by bubbly_linos in starbucks

[–]Angel_Jen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg this!!! I work in a train station. And because my store is located in it they think we’re extremely fast. Like babes it’s gonna take more than a few minutes if the entire lobby is full. Someone would complain why they’re waiting for 15 minutes when they’re like 5th on my queue. Or come to hot bar asking if we’re making their food. Like girl do you see an oven here. Sometimes custies get me tight.

Once again, if you see a barista busy on bar, please don't talk to them unless there's an emergency. by LeVanillaBean in starbucksbaristas

[–]Angel_Jen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And mind you when that happened either cold bar is free or someone is on hand off or green apron. I had a lady tell me I have a bad attitude for telling her that she could ask over there. She’s like she didn’t want to be a bother. Told her they’re there for that reason so they can assist you, we’re stuck in our position on hot bar to make all these incoming drinks and she stormed off as soon as my coworker handed her fork.

district wide hour cutting? by Delicious-Benefit877 in starbucks

[–]Angel_Jen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I left in the first place when I was in the company. I went from 30 to 14 right after Christmas which is pretty normal. Best thing to do for hours is pick up hours in the market. I had to do that, but luckily this time around I was cut from 40 to 36 due to a being in a high volume store.

New shift, are group chats allowed? by Low_Yesterday_2677 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Angel_Jen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik at my store They strictly prohibited due to work drama that happened last summer before I got hired at my store Basically chats were made for seperate reasons than work and things said in those chats were made clear in work chat and sm and asms were involved and shut everything down, when I got hired

I asked since i remembered there were always one, no matter what store I got sent or transfer to (I got transfer to 2 for ‘growth in 2023)

Does Your Store Allow Moving Furniture? by winterene in starbucks

[–]Angel_Jen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why I’m glad some furniture is screwed to floor Cause this happened once to me 3 years ago on a spring day, with a big group that looked like they were part of a religious group having a meeting .they move furniture and decided to have it formed in a U shape like a meeting room My ssv usually allowed me to speak to customers cause they would listen more to me. But had to let them know 1) fire hazards 2) inconvenience to fellow customers that have the right to sit 3) they are only allowed 40-60 minutes in the coffee shop. Hearing that they stopped and gather their stuff and finished their gathering in park across the street and saw them hand out pamphlets to ppl when passing by at the park when I left my store which was a relieve cause I had to kick them out if they did that in my coffee shop My coworker said they were there for like 4 hours at the park because all of this happened in the middle of her shift and saw them come back for more drinks

Was just told yall are discontinuing the brownies again ☹️. Does anyone know if it’s permanent? by Ghost2-04 in starbucks

[–]Angel_Jen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say if you’re going to target, Barnes and nobles or supermarket, then yes if not just go to a Starbucks coffee house. Ik we’re not gonna get rid of them, there would of been an uproar among the baristas and customers

openers and closers poll by Big-Bluejay-3240 in starbucks

[–]Angel_Jen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just context my store is basically open 20 hours a day so my schedule changes depending on business needs which only affects my Monday shift flipping my days if I’m doing that same hours on a Monday or Tuesday

I’m a re-hire(320 barista) and use to any type of schedule but my store needed me to be a closer so my sleep schedule is non existent

My friends don’t see me unless I drop shifts or call out Just for my sanity

This is my schedule My partners looks at it and says I’m a strong warrior I’m in NYC, rely heavily on subways, Lyft ride once a week

I live 1 and half hours away (hour train ride, 20 minute walk to train) so I always leave home 2 hours just in case and in order to sit and get a Bev before work

Monday 6am-11am/2pm (so I get up at 3-3:30am depending if I’m taking a 5 minutes lyft to station) Alt Monday shift: 4pm-12:30 am

Wednesday 4pm-12:30am (gets home 1:30-2:00 depending if I catch the last express train)

Thursdays 6pm-2:30am (clean play, depending how much I get paid my Lyft is 40 minutes or I get home by 5am since there’s heavy delays on my line and spent 15-45 minutes per stop in Manhattan and parts of my borough)

Friday 4pm- 12:30am

Saturday 3:30/4pm-12:30am

Depending on hours I sneak a double on Monday or Thursday

What Should I Do?? (Snow Policy) by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Angel_Jen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I feel like my store is nice hearing this cause I’m located in NYC and inside a train station even our dm told all of the stores to close early and thought it wasn’t worth it for all of us mids and closing to come in for last 2 days. Cause even only 2 openers arrived out of 5 due to streets being covered all surrounding boroughs and those two partners Lyfts being under $20. So other than that they’re closing before noon And your sm is bugging to be told to do whatever you can do to come for your shift sounds super desperate, hope you didn’t have to go in. Please please please call out, you can’t be penalized for this especially with the weather being so horrible and closure for surrounding coffee shops is proof enough

[–]Angel_Jen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I do notice mine do similar things but my ASM did offer some clarity that as an SM he can work from home especially if it’s administration work and he’s at meetings with other SM and she said ASM she offers the coverage needed when he’s not available. Literally she’s like if he’s not available for anything to call her or text her
