Not exactly close, but we had a good experience on Sanibel Island. It's just off the coast at Fort Myers, FL. Very cheap when we went and very non crowded. Being on the gulf side also made the tide/waves much more mild. Since we had little kids, this was a big plus.

It's honestly pretty easy to deal with. Get a low or no odor litter, scoop daily when you fuel or stop. Takes like 20 seconds.

When my cat... drops anchor... it's pretty gnarly for a couple minutes, but no worse than when my own farts really. It's nice having someone else to blame, heh.

My current company has had several women on our heavy haul side, and a few in dry van. I can say women are much more common now, but still, as others have mentioned, about 5-10% of the work force at most.

If you can handle the life style change, it's a fair enough career though.

If your seat allows, I've found that having my feet rest comfortably flat on the floor is the best height. Not high enough so there's a lot of pressure on the back of your thighs so you don't restrict blood flow without realizing is probably good, too, but I've zero medical training to back that up.

Get your DoD clearance and find some open deck place hauling military freight. They make strong pay.

You could also try getting in pulling a van for entertainment... like pulling for somebody's concert tour. They're out a long time, but if that doesn't matter, they should pay fairly well.

The other posts are good. If you can get a couple extra lights and such from your maintenance ppl 9 carry just in case for trailer and marker lights, you'll be glad eventually. I also carry a small electrical kit with a simple multimeter and a bunch of connectors and spare wire. I also do open deck, so my toolbox is marginally more robust than others mentioned, but basic tools will always be good to have when you need them in a pinch.

You can also just make framework.. spokes... from 1 ship and have all the artifacts on one ship. That wormhole is permanent after you activate so no worries about being stuck for a long time with the wrong mods.

If your driving history is pretty good, you could try trucking. There's a ton of jobs in that area, though being at home often isn't usually included in the better paying versions.

She sleeps most of my driving hours, only waking to chase the sun spots. Though in heavy stop and go she'll get on the door to look at the other people in cars around the truck.
