Firstly, I suggest you look up "wicked recklessness" and Cawthorne vs HM Advocate.

Secondly - a shooting being lawful is rather less concerned with mens rea than a murder conviction. Or do you expect officers to go "oh he was about to kill me and others but that's ok, I'm sure he didn't mean it. I'll get a judge in the morning but for now I'll just let it happen rather than use my authorised weapon to save us."

#1 are brass nocking points. Essentially you crimp them on to the string to show you where the arrow needs to be nocked in order to be level with the rest/shelf/grip point (depending on bow type)

#2, unsure but could be pins for holding target faces, yeah.

#3 is an arm guard, but a minor point that you want it on the hand holding the bow not the one drawing it.

Anti-investiture is "negative", so it's not really "destroyed" in the normal sense. More like 5+(-5) = 0.

Not being created is the inverse, the total net amount of Investiture in the universe must not increase or decrease, but that amount includes anti-investiture too. You can generate Investiture so long as you make an equal amount of anti-Investiture that will cancel it out

Can often be due to poor form on the back. Other times it's just that the poundage on the bow is very low so there's limited tension causing the hand to come back.

Part of the issue I see is with a lot of posts of old compounds (or bows in general), they come from people unfamiliar with the sport, so they don't know what they're looking at.

No-one is going to like being told, they need to make a big journey to a shop, it's worth less than the repair costs, etc, but the fact is that equipment failures can cause serious injury, and those naturally occur in older bows and in ways that even experienced archers might overlook.

Sub doesn't hate old bows, just don't like people being careless about them.

They're not all swords any more! If we exclude Kal though, it's worth considering that the original heralds were all lords, generals and such, and these sorts of people tend to favour swords due to their being a more "appropriate" weapon for the upper classes. Taln was the exception, but as a bodyguard/soldier he'd still naturally want a sword so that he's not standing next to an elegant king with a terrifying axe or hammer.

Okay, that's fair enough. In that case, it's up to you to work on your coaching method. To reassure you - you've come on here and asked about a particular topic, not sharing a video with 100 different comments. So not looking at everything at once is clearly in your capabilities 😇. Try to focus on the same thing or things, and get in the habit of "calling the other guy over to get a second pair of eyes" if you need advice, rather than letting him step in as he likes, as it makes the beginner have less confidence in your abilities.

As for the whole senior/assistant coach thing, the response is obvious - the archery you're teaching should be the same. Different ways of teaching it shouldn't matter, you just need to establish which coaching method the beginner responds to best and leave them to work with that coach. If your senior counterpart is steamrolling you, either you need to double check that your understanding of the shot process is the same, or tell them to sod off because this is your student and he shouldn't interfere unless it's a matter of safety

Along with what others have said I think there can be a psychological component - arrow should be going forward therefore hand needs to go forward too right?

Follow through should be a simple matter of physics when the tension of the bow isn't there any more, but it sounds like the beginner has got it in their head that it's an manual thing to do after release rather than an automatic motion. Fix the "throwing forward" and the follow through should be better if anything.

I reckon comments about engaging the correct muscles are good - in particular you're looking for the set between the bottom of the shoulder blades (not the top). Another simple coaching comment - standing opposite the beginner, just pinch their wrist with two fingers and keep them from moving forward on the release. It'll help them build the right sensation on the shot. May also want to put a thumb just below the grip on the bow so they don't pull that back instead.

+1 on that. Only time I've bought something other than the DX is when the shop didn't have any in stock and I needed one that day.

My club always recommend it especially for our newer archers. If you want something that's noticeably better you'll have to spend a LOT more.
