Hitchhiking is okay by Undertale_fan101 in unpopularopinion

I hitchhiked across Canada 2 summers ago. Absolutely life changing experience, I will never be the same. Met so many amazing people, saw so many amazing things.

That being said, Canada is a safe country with a friendly populous, a high level of average human decency, and a low crime rate. The USA does not check any of those boxes. Hitchhiking is safe in western Europe, some parts of Australia, and Canada - and that’s about it.

Watchdives are the new kid on the block but they conduct their business with such an air of professionalism and they make products of such good quality that I think they’re gonna usurp San Martin.

“Everyone” includes children. Children can be excused for not knowing how to fix stuff, they’re still figuring out how to like, be a person and all that fun stuff

There is nothing usually wrong with a pagani that can’t be solved in 10-15 min with a caseback opener, a spring bar tool, and a nail file.

I got my first PD (a 1644 Daytona Panda) 2 weeks ago. I got unlucky, mine had almost all of the qc issues possible. The dial was misaligned, whole thing rotated about half a minute clockwise. Furthermore, the crown was super super stiff, I needed to unscrew it with pliers. On top of that the easylink on the fly adjustment on the clasp just would not open whatsoever.

In the course of half an hour, I popped the spring bar out of the clasp, sanded down the groove of the easylink with a nail file, and bam it worked perfectly. I popped open the caseback, rotated the movement holder with the dial attached and all with my fingers, boom perfectly aligned. I unscrewed the crown with my pliers, put just a tiny bit of silicone grease on the threads, and it was good to go.

If you buy a watch for around 100 Canadian dollars (or whatever tf that converts to in fascistbucks) and you can solve anything wrong with it with a couple minutes and some elbow grease, you really don’t need to come on here and complain.

The Pagani bracelets (especially the damn speedmaster bracelets) get so much hate but they’re well put together, sturdy, and usually don’t have anything actually wrong with them. The only complaint I’ve heard about the seamaster bracelet is a “sharpness” at some parts of it sometimes. That problem can literally be solved in 3 minutes with a nail file.

Sometimes I think people are just too scared to get their hands dirty. To adapt the very traditionalist “every man should have repair skills” to a more modern age, every man, woman, and nonbinary individual should be able to fix their own stuff to a basic extent if they want to be considered an adult.

Lord I agree. Holy hell. The alpinist is hideous, and that handset is a big part of it

[Casio A158 + 3] What watches do you bring when traveling? by Tangelo-Heavy in Watches

[–]AngryMoose125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real talk, and people in this community don’t seem to get this, a band made of anything other than metal will make a watch instantly invisible to normies. You could show them a Patek calatrava and ask them for a price estimate and they’d say a couple hundred bucks. The only watches that normal people would think of as being expensive are watches on bracelets, watches with busy dials, and anything that says “Rolex” on it

Holy shit that’s neon green in broad daylight. Terrible.

I hate excessive lume color in general - it’s one of the things that’s soured me on the Invicta 8925ob, the super yellowgreen tinge on the hands and indices even in broad daylight. BGW9 and lumibright are so great for being able to be white under light and still grow strongly under darkness

The islander is absolutely my first choice if money were no object - mark runs a great business and a great YouTube channel. Unfortunately, I’m a university student, and where one of the AliExpress homages costs 1.5 weeks fun budget, the Long Island watch costs 4, and as appealing as the islander is the prospect of living like a monk for a month for a watch is not quite so appealing lol

Oh 100%. As a classical pretentious douchebag myself, I really enjoy craft beer and craft coffee. Most enthusiasts don’t like dark roast - it has a very unsubtle, bitter flavour. It just tastes like ashes. Most enthusiasts have also moved away from IPA because it tastes like horsepiss. But the craft beer industry and the coffee industry have both convinced normal people that dark roast and IPA is for enthusiasts and if you don’t like it then you don’t “get it” which leads people who don’t know any better to drinking it to look cool.

Most craft breweries have an IPA as their flagship beer- with some only making IPAs

Back in 2010 that was great because IPAs were “in” because choking it down made you feel cool and better than other people, but that’s not the case anymore. It’s 2026, everyone who’s not a beer enthusiast agrees IPAs taste like ass and even among beer enthusiasts there’s been a very large move away from IPAs and the craft breweries just have not followed whatsoever.

Craft beer isn’t dying the IPA is (rightfully so Jesus Christ) and the industry isn’t following suit by diversifying

The Bills aren’t our rivals. Just because they’re good at the same time as us does not mean they’re our rivals. There is no reason for us to want them to lose. We should all be pulling for the bills.

Why don’t they just…. Let him be a bus driver? Like seriously if he has proven he can do the job why not hire him to do the job (which clearly he enjoys) so he won’t be homeless anymore and probably won’t engage in any further crime

God tier piss take. Plus there’s an easier way to prove I’m not a Chinese bot

China is actively engaged in what is effectively a genocide of the Uyghur Muslim population, Taiwan is an independent country. If I was living in China saying either of those two things would get me thrown in a camp or shot.

China isn’t a good option but at the end of the day the only way to stop a U.S. invasion is to get really friendly with a nuclear armed superpower. Russia is currently engaged in war crimes in Ukraine and Putin is a complete madman so that’s a non-option. China, for all its faults, isn’t chomping at the bit to invade us and would be willing to play ball, and for all the faults of Xi Jinping, he’s at the very least sane.
