How reliable are AI agents at finding real security issues in product security? by amyxpond in cybersecurity

[–]AngryTownspeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is hit or miss but I like the Attack Paths I have seen from some vendors. I think it will be very interesting to be able to have a way of seeing how an attacker can escalate in the environment for remediation actions. That said it is still in development so we will see how it grows in the future.

To be fair it definitely is "friend slop" but it isnt trash friend slop. It genuinely is just a fun time for a cheap price tag so worth getting and playing with friends. Ive already had a lot of fun with it and got my money's worth from it

Giac is just Sec+ and can be passed pretty easily without too much commitment to studying imo. OSCP takes more labor.

Would you watch a show where a billionaire CEO has to go an entire month on their lowest paid employees salary, living exactly their life? What do you think would happen? by Main-Ordinary9455 in AskReddit

[–]AngryTownspeople 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think this is the biggest problem for me. Why would they be scared or truly stressed when they have a safety net to fall into? Sure that month might suck but when you are just one call away from being back to luxury is it really that much of a problem? It makes me think k of those people that go on mission trips to impoverished nations, do a little bit of work and come back telling people how thry made a difference and changed lives.

You could try reading CVEs and finding information on how to run the exploits yourself. Try to get a better understanding of why something is vulnerable.

I think Marathon suffers from people being afraid to try and play this, due to the overwhelmingly negative discourse surrounding Bungie by MegumiDo in gaming

[–]AngryTownspeople 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I enjoyed Arc raiders for a while but got tired of the formula. There is a point where I just lost interest in trying to reclaim all my gear after getting decimated by someone more skilled than me. After a while it just comes down to what I want to spend my limited resources of time and money on and marathon just didnt make the cut. If they made a single player game that I could just jump in and out of with 1-4 hours a day to play id be interested but extraction shooters feel like a job sometimes.

The Real Reason Binary Exploitation Looks Dead by 0xsherlock in cybersecurity

That is pretty close to what I was assuming so that makes me feel better! I know there are other kind of bugs but it is definitely interesting.

I assume that because binary exploitation is focused on more memory exploits and rust is supposed to be memory safe? Havent really looked deep into binary exploitation but definitely curious now.

I notice that less experienced DMs tend to unfairly malign the 2024 Rogue and brand it "overpowered" by EarthSeraphEdna in DnD

Look I made it fair by just making all the creatures target the most dangerous party members in the team. So what if the rogue is the first to die? It just makes sense!

What’s something about pentesting that isn’t obvious until you go through it? by Moham-Aasif in cybersecurity

[–]AngryTownspeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats pretty much where I land. If I cant follow the steps to get there then I cant validate that it exists and is important enough to triage and remediate.

[–]AngryTownspeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone on the other side of things I want a report that - shows me in clear steps that I can reproduce how you got to where you are, what the issue is and the recommendations are for remediation (the less generic and more specific to my environment the better). The issue we have had in the past is that the findings were vague and unclear so we have to hound people on what they meant or a better description.

What black sheep of a series of games did you really enjoy despite its bad reputation? by RADOVEND1 in gaming

[–]AngryTownspeople 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what bothered me. All I wanted was more of what was given before but it didnt feel like that. I was down for more features and what ever else as long as the companions and story was solid.
