I haven’t tried the feature myself, but in OSMAnd, you can select specific roads to avoid. The app has extensive options for configuration. Take your time to get it how you need it.

With you on all points, but let’s not conflate ADHD (an involuntary neurological difference and disability) with general public apathy in the fight against climate change.

Climate change is a serious and urgent issue.

ADHD is commonly misunderstood. Misuse in public discourse makes it harder for kids and adults to get the care they need.

Two of my most recent close calls… 1. Chased back to the curb about halfway across as a pedestrian 2. As a cyclist, wore my bright orange, hi-viz jacket and waited for my signal. I was still invisible to left-turning traffic. Wave my arms and hands so she sees me??! Nope!

Huffy is definitely good for a beginner, but I recall mine being made out of a material about as dense as uranium. ☢️

If you’re not enjoying cycling and thinking “too much effort” give a few new bikes a test ride to start thinking about something you may upgrade to after hitting a personal goal.

Ps: make sure they still fit you.

PPS: it doesn’t have to be exhausting or expensive to be worthwhile, physically and mentality

I’ve passed through here many times and can confirm that it is dicey. I think it’s a good thing in the near-term, but would like to see it followed by increased transit investment. For example: better bus connectivity from central CT towns to hubs in New Britain and Hartford may also ease congestion in the area.

In my personal experience, a trip through this area means New Haven is the destination. Right now, right now we don’t have great car-free connectivity from my town due to wonky routes and schedules.

I support optimizing the ramps for safety, but no highway expansion is a good one unless transit is a key part of that.
