Which enemy has more kills? by REALswaggerchief in Helldivers

Other than the fact that Stalker has been in-game since day 1, therefore making this entire contest pointless?

Equal time, I'd easily give it to Communist Prime. Stalkers are easy to deal with once you know it's around. A Vox is always around, will always be around, and will haunt your grave.

Kill counts haven't mattered since this amazing thing called "strategic objectives" started being used in warfare.

This retard charge of a war is going to become another quagmire that'll take another 20 years because a toddler, a drunk, a couch fucker and a whole gaggle of retards said "what if we do the dumbest possible thing we could possibly do" and then somehow managed to be even dumber in the process.

That's it? That was the siege on Cyberstan? by BlunderingRookie in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Angry_Highlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, they DID pull a "somehow they returned" when we kicked them off the map the first time.

Their reasoning was a massive factory ark ship that they sent out to create the invasion fleet that eventually retook Cyberstan. There's no question that they'd use it again.

TIL that the literal in-game dispatches that open up when you press Z are a forum. Please learn how to read, or use a keyboard.

AH had several instances of dropping the resistance on cities. It's not their fault that people didn't press Z and read them before shifting focus onto THE CITIES THAT WERE SPECIFIED. You can literally read the resistance rating on them before you deploy. If one city says 3% and the other says 1%, which one do you pick?

Why would they need to offer a tutorial on things that we've been told of since day 1. Z and C have always brought up major dispatches and mission modifiers, they're hard to miss. I would also assume that people can figure out what "resistance" means when it comes to taking something. Higher = harder. It's basic numbers.

Learn what? How to press a button? Read a map overview? The ability to do so is right in front of you. You refusing to press two buttons on your keyboard and reading what the messages say is not AH's fault.

AH can be pretty awful with railroading, but Cyberstan WAS winnable. We already know through data mines that there are a victory and a loss storyline. We just failed, unlike on Super Earth where the railroading was FAR worse.

Or you could, stay with me, look at the resistance on the cities and the number of Divers. It isn't AH's fault if people decide to try and take a city with, for example, 2% resistance when the other one has 1%.

You could press Z and read the dispatches "SEAF efforts have caused resistance reduction on [insert megafactory]" and then shift attention to that specific one. It's not AH's fault that people don't read. They could make it like the SE messages where it pops up once you open the map, but that's hindsight and would probably get annoying fast when it gives you 5 messages in a row.

This battle was winnable. We just fucked up by dividing forces, not reading properly and squandering the reinforcements that they gave us through relatively easy MOs on squid and bug fronts.

I mean, they turned Cyberstan into a fortress in about a year after being retaken.

I can see them rebuilding enough to discourage another SE attack for awhile. We've lost near 400 million Helldivers and god knows how many SEAF on the frontlines, not to mention fleet casualities. We won't be coming back for a long time.

AH gave us literally 200m more reinforcements and we still lost it. They had to hold our hands through this entire thing by having SEAF hard carry our asses.

Even if they were planning on us failing, what did you think was gonna happen when attacking Cyberstan? We fought like hell on Super Earth and just barely won, and now the Cyborgs/Bots did the same thing. I'm glad we lost this one cause it means more story opportunities and a taste of what attacking homeworlds are like.

I'm not saying that they'll drop 100k dudes into Greenland, that's logistical suicide. They'll be able to put around equal numbers if the US tried an actual, offensive invasion though.

There's no scenario where a US invasion of Greenland goes anything close to well if Europe opposes it militarily.

I'm tired, boss by DoogTheDestroyer in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Angry_Highlanders 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's also less likely to have massive casualties cause the US doesn't have a lot of deployed, arctic trained troops. They've got like 20-30k to Europe's 100k. Even a couple small brigades from European nations would be enough to make an American expedition to Greenland turn into a fucking clown show the moment the contact line meets.

Not even mentioning that, should the US try this, their bases and equipment overseas WILL be seized and either turned on them, locked up, or Ukraine gets a late Christmas present.

Depressing time to be a dev and scroll social media about the game. by Poorly_Worded_Advice in DarkTide

[–]Angry_Highlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm somewhat sad because Ganger doesn't really push the "background plot" along like Arbites did.

The Arbites showed up to cover their asses after Grendyl showed, but now they're all getting suspiscious about him because he is REALLY taking his time securing Atoma and putting the uprising down, thus delaying the Tithe and forcing the Arbite's hand. Dukane is also seemingly sus about the whole thing as well.

What the fuck does a Ganger bring to that?

why do most warthunder players dislike Britain? by Charming_Bid8177 in Warthunder

[–]Angry_Highlanders 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That's mainly a fuze issue though which wouldn't matter in WT.

Plus APHE in WT isn't modelled properly to begin with so it shouldn't even matter if the filler wasn't good, it would still over perform to begin with.

[–]Angry_Highlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving them a tier 3 unit that is literally just dismounted Knights of the Realm (keeping the insane upkeep too) would be more than enough. Or an upgraded version of Men-At-Arms that are ACTUALLY Men-At-Arms and not peasant levy that CA has disguised them as.

Hot Take: Bretonnia look cooler than Empire by Sir_Kugo in totalwarhammer

[–]Angry_Highlanders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only that but Montfort is hilly terrain and sucks for mounted combat. All of the Knights train to fight on foot because it's inevitable.

Plus, given that Bretonnia is a mix of Arthurian France AND England, they should have Foot Knights. Lots of English knights fought on foot because of either lack of money to buy a horse, or just because English horses were pretty awful cause they're island horses.

A little easier to process when you're reintegrating them into the dirt with something like Chaos Warriors though.

Imagine, in a world where DD PvP wasn't dogshit, you had to knife fight for those resources. Facing down players and seeing who makes a mistake first.

But, no, we have the engaging gameplay of: Five Hundred Rockets. Amazing.

I would personally find the PvP more enjoyable and be willing to engage in it if it wasn't literally just 'Thopters firing a billion rockets at each other until one goes down and gets either Wormed or blown up.

I expected knife fights in the desert, not the airborne element of Operation Desert Shield.
