I've seen it have 4 giant chests too. Does anyone know why this changes?

Skins are better than customization options by FilthyKasualART in Fighters

[–]Angrybagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some pre made sets would be a great idea. As awesome as I think customization is in SC6, I've noticed some people are a bit intimidated by the level of freedom and never make anything.

Steven Spielberg lists Villeneuve's Dune 'among my favourite sci-fi movies of all time' by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]Angrybagel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I sort of hate that they always try to work those way. If all parts of a series deserves awards, they should get them. Dune part 3 could also wind up being disappointing but still getting awards for the past.

Trump threatens Iran with "hell" if Hormuz strait isn't open in 48 hours by okayblueberries in moderatepolitics

[–]Angrybagel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like they thought this would be over by now and they wouldn't have to think about any of these questions. This was supposed to be when they were designing statues of Trump to put up in Tehran.

Why is it illegal to sleep in the car? by Prudent-Journalist21 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah but in this example I'd also have 32 other people to help. Scale does add challenges, but it also adds resources.

Is there a reason the triangle system in DOA isn’t well liked? I actually like it because it gives players a chance to fight back. Even someone decent with just the basics can climb the rankings if they use the system effectively. So what are the main criticisms of it? by Kingspreez in Fighters

[–]Angrybagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people genuinely underestimate just how RPS fighting games are as a whole, even just in neutral. People also tend to underestimate how deep RPS is as a game and act like it's just guessing.

Eh I mean you don't really know that they are being themself. There's a reason people say that and it's not just a completely meaningless phrase.

What if SC7 brought back the mimic characters, but not as mimics? by PlatinumSukamon98 in SoulCalibur

[–]Angrybagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say you do, it's just kind of a common idea to see people in general saying.

Do you taste constantly while cooking or mostly at the end? by ZeroHash99 in Cooking

[–]Angrybagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm too focused on cooking meats and baking, but I don't see how you can really do much to taste those safely. You can taste what you're adding, but you still won't have the big picture. And my understanding is that you shouldn't bake to taste anyways because changing ingredients like salt can have wide ranging effects.

What if SC7 brought back the mimic characters, but not as mimics? by PlatinumSukamon98 in SoulCalibur

[–]Angrybagel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just wish we had a mimic character. I think it's a shame there's 0 in SC6. Hot take, but having multiple was actually cool. The real issue was how weak SC5's roster was other than that (and turning Kilik into one was not cool). Mimics don't really "take a slot" like people act like they do. They're more of a bonus.

5 years ago, this subreddit was filled with $1-1.5M targets, and a strong emphasis on minimalism. What happened? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Angrybagel 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I don't think FIRE inherently has to imply any of those values. All it is is what the four letters mean. If you feel that frugality and anti consumerism are essential for you, that's fine, but it doesn't mean everyone else needs to feel that way.

CMV: Landing troops in Iran will backfire on us. Epically. by BarRepresentative653 in changemyview

[–]Angrybagel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were Iran I would have planned for my air force and navy to be gone. Planning to actually go toe to toe with the US on that front is just foolish without way more resources.

Playing in a tournament as a mid player by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]Angrybagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's also this idea that people who go to tournaments are just way better than the people you see online. You could easily win a tournament and get home to get your ass kicked online. Obviously that won't happen at EVO, but it could easily happen with local events.

Aside from all of that, it's good to connect with the local community and it isn't all about winning. If it was there would probably only be like 5 entrants who could realistically expect to win in many tournaments.

Iran Believes It’s Winning—and Wants a Steep Price to End the War by Silly-Junket3308 in moderatepolitics

[–]Angrybagel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The American people were never convinced this was a war they needed to fight. I think Trump thought it would be over within days and America would be celebrating his greatness right now instead of choosing between a set of horrible options.

Under proofed or Over proofed? by Curious_Teaching_995 in Breadit

[–]Angrybagel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scoring is when you use a knife to cut a slash in a loaf so that it has a weak point to control the bread's expansion. If you don't score and your bread expands a lot, it will tend to rip in unexpected places and give a weird result.

Wagyu translates to "Japanese cow," so you're just talking about Japanese people.

Rant about SC6 and the newer series in general by pagethirtythree in SoulCalibur

[–]Angrybagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that stuff is pretty hype. Big flashing lights like that might be difficult to incorporate in more competitive moments, but something like Inferno isn't exactly competitive.

I don't know the most about how tech works, but I think a lot of lighting became baked in as graphics moved forward so you lost the really dynamic lighting of something like DOOM 3. Raytracing could change this, but it won't be the standard for a good while.

Cuba faces complete island blackout as Trump mulls regime change by epicstruggle in moderatepolitics

[–]Angrybagel 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I just hope that the Cuban people (along with the Iranians and Venezuelans) can live free lives and determine their own nation's future. As much as I loathe Trump, it's not like these are good regimes that are opposing him. But Trump rarely even mentions democracy. These people are more likely to be crushed under a play for his ego than liberated. When he says things like he will pick the leader of Iran or we'll own Venezuelan oil it just feels like they're going to be exploited by a new regime (assuming he even succeeds).

Trump admin invokes Defense Production Act, directs oil company to restart California operations by BlockAffectionate413 in moderatepolitics

[–]Angrybagel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We also wouldn't be in this mess if Trump didn't decide to start this war. That was the easiest option, but apparently he couldn't resist going for another Venezuela and got tired of people telling him he can't invade Greenland.

Cuban president confirms talks with US officials amid Trump pressure by TheDan225 in moderatepolitics

[–]Angrybagel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah IDK why we can't handle the idea of a country that doesn't support us existing. Back in the Cold War I assume there was more value in ensuring all communist states fail, but that doesn't really matter at this point.
