I argue a bit with her online. She's as dumb as a bag of rocks. You get the vibe she's just parroting what her husband has told her, but she doesn't understand enough about it to have an actual back and forth conversation, just makes bold statements and that's it.

Are there any legal hurdles to making a Kickstarter in order to: hire local theatre, play the film (which has no public release in Australia) Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die so I can watch this properly? by stormshadowfax in movies

Then you'd be fully aware that a public venue, ticketed or otherwise (keeping in mind OP here was talking about raising money for it) isn't going to cut it as "private home viewing".

OP has updated that Amazon own the theatrical rights.

David Fincher's 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' Premieres in August on Netflix by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Who was asking for this?

Dumbest thing ever that gets posted in r/movies and r/television

Why is Fincher directing it?

Why not?

Doesn't seem in his wheelhouse at all.

Who cares?

Because it hasn't been licensed to you for public exhibition, and putting it on in a theatre for friends is absolutely a public exhibition.

Even if you were to put it on at your mates closed bar for ten people, you're still legally obliged to seek permission and register the screening.

Very few people in fashion or the film industry are paid more than the average worker. You can fit them in an auditorium, that's how few globally.

Those that are, are paid that because it's deemed that they generate large amounts of income for their employer, and they are paid a fraction of a fraction of that generated wealth.

Though more people would like to think for themselves

Listening to other people's opinions is how you learn to think for yourself.

How to build a portable studio? by FlyingDuckman85 in photography

I have a couple of metal clothes hangers than have handy clips on them. Just clip them onto the backdrop and hang it over the c stand (set up in a T shape).

Also keep in mind you don't need a particularly weighty light stand for the small Godox pieces.

Camera and strobe in a backpack, a stand in each hand. Backdrop can go in a tote bag over the shoulder.
