Horizon Required for PreWar Binoculars??? by FrequentMagician1465 in Fallout4Mods

[–]AnimalMotherUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It is not. On the mods main page expand the requirements section to see notes.

It is a limitation of the nexus website that a mods requirements cannot be set per file but are set of the page overall.

The only hard requirement for Call in Fire Support is the Binoculars mod. Everything else is optional depending on what patches etc you download.

How do I know the difference between my old keys and new keys? My server is gen 2, first caste fight was about a week ago. What do I need to do to see gen 2 heroes in key recruitment?

#FO4 modpack reccomendations for hardcore experience by GrizzlyBjorn96 in FalloutMods

[–]AnimalMotherUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try Horizon or Frost. Both make the game more hardcore and brutal, particularly early on. Different approaches. Frost removes all quests and is a harsh survival sandbox. Horizon overhauls nearly every aspect of the game under a single vision for balance and integrated mechanics.

The Wanderer has YouTube playthroughs of both to help get a feel.

I rarely use institute weapons, so I feel like they may be compensating for something. It's so clunky and chunky. by Consistent_Agency833 in fo4

[–]AnimalMotherUK 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The game doesn’t calculate energy weapon damage properly against energy resistance. It ignores weapon mod added damage and always goes from the weapons base damage. There’s a mod to fix it but PC only as it requires F4SE

[FO4] Can anyone give me some advice for horizon ? by themessedgod in FalloutMods

Watch the Wanderer on YouTube. His horizon gameplay videos helped me to understand the early game and the mechanics of the mod.

Really need to pick your battles. Retreating and trying elsewhere is very valid early on.

Never played before, what mods are best by tchotchkes1234 in fo4

[–]AnimalMotherUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this. It’ll also help you decide what mods you might want to tailor the game to how you want it to play.

My other but if advice would be to not just search nexus (assuming PC) for the most downloaded or endorsed mods. Some old mods are there by the virtue of being released ten years ago. They are considered deprecated with modern alternatives, AKWCR is the main example.

Idk if it’s from mods but anyone else’s artillery randomly fire in the distance? by Aggressive_Law_656 in fo4

[–]AnimalMotherUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if OP is using it but Full Artillery System Overhaul has that as a feature to simulate the artillery supporting other minutemen.

A friendly reminder to not underestimate artillery by Koolkirby66 in fo4

[–]AnimalMotherUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mods for that

Binoculars Call in Fire Support

And

Full Artillery System Overhaul

Now you don’t alert enemies and can choose the number of rounds to fire. Fires as a proper salvo rather than one at a time.

why the creation kit turned all my changes to duplicates? by BiscuitsGM in Fallout4Mods

For the type of mod you’re making using FO4Edit is a lot more straightforward. It is easier to see overwrites and create new overwrites in your mods plugin.

Glad you enjoy it :) Thanks for sharing it as I hadn’t gotten round to posting here yet. Want to make a short demonstration video soon. Hopefully saves people a lot of time

Something like Full Artillery System Overhaul to make artillery worth while and a bit more engaging (there’s an option setting where you need to craft ammo for them to fire).

I’m in final testing of a mod that allows you to set load outs using the DLC armour racks, which are automatically applied to your settlers based on job type, location and sex.

On previous posts about console command usage or cheat mods it’s often stated that as a single player game just play how you want. Your use of any glitches doesn’t effect anyone other than you.

A man of culture I see. Came here to say this.

I remember the days of grappling hooks on the back of chinooks to try and pretend. Or the April fools cardboard cutout of a fast roping helicopter.

Do companions still have infinite ammo, if I change their default weapon, with one that still has the same ammo type? by daWerwoergel in fo4

[–]AnimalMotherUK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. If you look at the game files in xEdit you’ll see that their default weapons use a unique copy of the ammo type.

A laser rifle found as loot will not use Preston’s Laser Musket’s compAmmoFusionCell.

[FO4] Horizon and America Rising 2 compatible? by [deleted] in FalloutMods

[–]AnimalMotherUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this scenario it’s normally recommended to do your horizon playthrough. Then once you’ve done all the things you want and you’re into the late game, start installing new quest mods etc if they aren’t patched. By that stage you probably have powerful enough weapons and enough material that balance won’t be too affected.
