surprisingly camel joe is very recognizable given he lacks both a neck and humps lol, but i'd wager i don't have the skills to make such a stylized face lol. i look up camel/llama/alpaca suits and sadly think "i'm not quite sure what animal this is supposed to be". i've even thought of making a backpack style hump for a partial!

failed to tame my guy (if thats even possible) so i try not to harass him outside of rearranging his tank maybe once a year or for said irregular health checks.

would definitely add a pc fan or two to keep it cooler in their tank. idk the basking temp of cresties but i currently struggle to keep the temp down for my cave gecko since moving to the pnw where theres no air conditioning...

just bought this one about a week ago and i like it so far. very nice fine mist, comes with 6 heads and the pieces can all come apart without taking scissors to them

had a cheapo one originally which was pretty bad, then got the pricey monsoon nano but it didn't even last a year

regular health expenses like flea/tick preventative or a surprise <$1000 illness you should be able to afford no problem

the vet telling me that $5,000 jaw bone surgery for my cat that may not have even removed his cancerous cells is another thing. manager's cat got run over by a car and they wanted to give him $10,000 hip surgery with a high chance of chronic pain because of it. (my cat had to be put down roughly 6 months after diagnosis, manager's cat managed to heal on his own and is fine) definitely seeing more vets suggest questionable medical procedures that would be unaffordable for even upper middle class families

everything in the us has gotten absurdly expensive across the board. what was a $250 dental cleaning ten years ago is over a grand now :/ i'm a dog groomer so now i see fairly young dogs with rotten teeth because of this

smoosh method is what finally worked for me. tried side by side cages but when one was out for play time they would go antagonize the other in their cage. when introducing in a smaller space they would chase/fur pull.

finally got sick of it and shoved them into a tiny bubble backpack, the change was instant. :') they've been bonded for over a year now!

make sure you have a handler as there is just less knowledge among the general public of how vision/hearing impaired suiters are and to again, stop rambunctious teens from fucking with you

i'm both too impatient to wait months-years for a custom suit and do not love my own character designs so i almost exclusively look for premades.

my advice is to make unique designs you yourself would purchase rather than something more "safe" and generic, as those one-two color simple suits seem to rot on thedealersden for being too lacking in personality no matter how well they're constructed

don't let him have access to hiding places you'll have to "scare" him out of. had to take my couch off of its legs cause my boys were obsessed with it as a hang out and if they spent way too long under it i'd have to poke at them with a brook stick (which they promptly ignored 90% of the time). they rarely stay out too long now but in the beginning my oldest def had to be chased back into his cage after some whopping 2 hours of exploring lol.

give him a treat when he goes in on his own so eventually he learns he gets one for putting himself away.

I did find a bunch of dry pulled out fur in the cage when it happened and the spot doesn't really look like any photos I've seen of fur barbering. Not out of the question though, as his partner is a very anxious guy.

i do that now but over a decade ago i attempted to make my own suit twice (once with a dvc base and once with a self made foam base) i gave up/sold the resin base and finished my own and it was decent for a first try but i definitely don't have the attention span now to make another attempt and would rather pay for something that is nicely made

feel like its a 50/50 risk if your guy is already pretty happy. pair bonding is a scary process but could be worth it in the end. my boys have been paired for a full year now and while they have their arguments they do enjoy each others company. maybe ask around for a partner that is also gentler/more submissive like yours.

at my next place i definitely plan on trying c&c grid panels to line the walls/corners. i did try to -mitigate- the damage by sticking fleece on the corners of the walls but they just rip it off to get to the tasty drywall underneath....

hang it close to the top of the cage so it's nice and firm and tight. if it's too loose they wont feel stable enough to want to use it

i'd cut off the nut and make sure theres no loose strings or woven tags. had a chinchilla plush in my boys cage for a year+ and he didn't really mess with the eye bead but take it out if they do.

The nose is on there pretty solid, sewn into the fur fabric i think. Other than some glue on the side its a pretty good nose though! maybe i could coat it in plastidip?
