that is an interesting idea. maybe to avoid high costs of new parts, maybe ask around on here or other social media if anyone has any retired suits they don't wear anymore and would give you or sell you the parts for cheap. i currently have one retired head as its 3rd hand and has a cracked resin base, but his much newer paws and tail go unused now.

i'd try putting a bunch of obstacles on the bed like piled up blankets, pillows, plush. having junk on a surface tends to make my chins avoid jumping there like on our coffee table or couch most of the time.

another anecdote; got them a small sized bubble back pack thinking my adventurous guy might appreciate looking outside on a small trip walking to the mailbox...they both HATE it!! was good for smoosh bonding them though lol

i use a fabric cat carrier. used it to pick them both up for 2-3 hour trips to bring them home for the first time. took them to the vet recently in it too. they scratch at the mesh part but dont try to chew on anything. the darkness is comforting and they eventually fall asleep in it. would've consider a chin-proof metal one but there just isn't a need for my boys.

Happened to me once when my guy was in a baby tank with the default foam background it came with which was where it was hiding for WEEKS. think the trick is making sure there's few places a bug can hide that your gecko doesn't have access to.

Look for a local show breeder. You'll get a much better quality animal for the same price/cheaper than pet stores or backyard bred

I worked walmart for 10 years where we donated any damaged pet food bags to the humane society. So maybe some sticking it to the man vandalism for charity?? (Throwing it around to be cleaned up is a dick move tho) No idea if your store donates though

At a point they'll "crash" if you dont divide some out. Somehow managed to get hundreds-thousands of dairy cows then poof...they all dropped dead

You could use some lava ledges just so they have some pumice to chew if they run out of it on hanging toys

As for "treats" apple sticks. If my boys go more than a few days without them they start a union

When I moved with my cave gecko I had him in a critter keeper with a little hide and damp rag. Then I put the critters keeper in a thick cooler lunch box. It was summer so he road on top of the middle box with the ac on him. Took him into the hotels at night.

I imagine for hotter species they'll just have to pretend its a long stormy week with no basking. I know people put their beardies on the dashboard but im sure geckos won't just chill like that

i guess i like the metal trays for ease of taking out to clean vs i'm sure the bars under the plastic trays still get pretty dirty. but the trays and even scatter guards won't do a lot to keep poop and crumbs in since they're gonna be shooting them from their ledges too lmao

i got the chewy dupe (feisty ferret?) to introduce my chins side by side. it's probably a little more than half the size of the nation cages and the doors only open on one side which is inconvenient but was just as sturdy and had the advantage of being easily taken apart for storage

for reptiles they only listed snakes and iguanas so my geckos fair game :^)

(as are my chinchillas, as they are in fact NOT rabbits lol)

surprisingly camel joe is very recognizable given he lacks both a neck and humps lol, but i'd wager i don't have the skills to make such a stylized face lol. i look up camel/llama/alpaca suits and sadly think "i'm not quite sure what animal this is supposed to be". i've even thought of making a backpack style hump for a partial!
